Mustafa Ali’s punctured lung is already forcing him to pull out of upcoming appearances. The TNA International Champion has confirmed that he won’t be able to wrestle in Australia or Scotland this September while dealing with the injury.
Mustafa Ali took to Twitter and announced that he has withdrawn from his scheduled appearances for ACW in Melbourne, Australia and Community Pro Wrestling in Glasgow, Scotland. He also apologized to the fans who were expecting to see him and made it clear he hopes to make things right once he’s able to return.
“Unfortunately, I will not be able to compete for ACW in Melbourne, Australia and for Community Pro Wrestling in Glasgow, Scotland in September. My sincere apologies. Hope to make it up to everyone soon.”
The cancellations come after TNA announced during the August 27 episode of iMPACT that Ali is currently dealing with a punctured lung. Ali suffered the injury at TNA Lockdown, where he defeated Jason Hotch to become a two-time TNA International Champion. He was supposed to team with Agent Zero against Hotch and Trey Miguel on iMPACT, but John Skyler had to replace him.
There’s still no timetable for Ali’s return, and his latest announcement confirms the injury will at least keep him from fulfilling those September bookings. That’s rough timing for Ali considering he only just regained the International Championship. For now, though, getting healthy is going to have to come before defending it.
