Mark Briscoe just punched his ticket to an AEW World Championship match.

AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026 went down at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, and one of the biggest matches of the night was the 12-man steel cage war between Team Briscoe and Team DCMJF.

The stakes were simple. If Team Briscoe won, Mark Briscoe would earn an AEW World Championship match against MJF. That is exactly what happened. The match was complete chaos, with tables, thumbtacks, chairs, a ladder, orange slices, and even Lio Rush popping out of a bag at one point. Everyone got involved, but the finish came down to Briscoe getting the job done.

After Andrade turned on MJF and dropped him with Dia de los Muertos, Briscoe hit Jake Doyle with the Jay Driller and scored the win for his team. That means Mark Briscoe has officially earned a shot at MJF and the AEW World Championship.

AEW later cut backstage, where Briscoe made it clear he does not want to wait around for the match. He said he wants his title shot this Wednesday on AEW Dynamite. AEW has not confirmed that the match will happen on Dynamite yet, but Briscoe put it out there loud and clear.

That makes Wednesday’s show a lot more interesting. MJF just survived the cage match mess, but now he has Mark Briscoe breathing down his neck with a title shot in his pocket. Briscoe has fought through a lot to get here, and now he finally has a chance at AEW’s top prize. Whether it happens this Wednesday or at a later date, the match is coming. Ringside News will keep you updated.

UPDATE: During the main event of Forbidden Door, the match was made official.

Do you think AEW should book Mark Briscoe vs. MJF for the AEW World Championship this Wednesday on Dynamite? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
