Kofi Kingston is wasting no time shedding another piece of his WWE identity. One day after making his surprise debut at AEW All In 2026, he removed “Kingston” from his Twitter name and now appears ready to move forward simply as Kofi.
Kofi posted a video on August 31 showing himself editing the name on his account. He manually erased “Kingston,” saved the change and shared a short message about starting over.
“Here’s to new beginnings… 🥂”
The name change comes after Kofi and Austin Creed debuted as The New Level at Wembley Stadium. They teamed with Swerve Strickland on their first night in AEW and immediately captured the AEW World Trios Championships.
Both men have now left pieces of their WWE identities behind. Xavier Woods returned to the Austin Creed name, while Kofi’s social media change signals that “Kingston” is also being left in the past.
The two parted ways with WWE in May after years as members of The New Day. Creed said there was no ugly breakup and that the relationship had simply run its course, while Kofi pointed to AEW’s tag team division as a major reason for making the jump.
Kofi isn’t just starting over in a new company—he’s stripping away the name tied to more than a decade of WWE history. The Kingston era appears to be over, and his next chapter will be written under one name.
