Xia Brookside is coming for Léi Yǐng Lee’s title at TNA Slammiversary.
TNA added a Knockouts World Championship match to the June 28 pay-per-view at Agganis Arena in Boston, Massachusetts. Léi Yǐng Lee will defend the title against her former partner, Xia Brookside.
The match was set up on the June 4 episode of Thursday Night iMPACT. Lee faced Mr. Elegance in a non-title intergender match, but Brookside got up from commentary and distracted her former partner. That distraction cost Lee the match.
Afterward, Brookside got in the ring, stood over Lee, and announced that she will challenge her for the Knockouts World Championship at Slammiversary. Brookside earned the shot after pinning Lee in the Champions Challenge match on May 28. Their issues go back even further, as Brookside turned on Lee at Rebellion. Now the former partners will settle things with the Knockouts World Title on the line.
The updated TNA Slammiversary lineup for June 28 includes:
- TNA X Division Championship — Ultimate X Match: Cedric Alexander (c) vs. Leon Slater vs. TBA vs. TBA vs. TBA vs. TBA
- TNA Knockouts World Championship: Léi Yǐng Lee (c) vs. Xia Brookside
Léi Yǐng Lee and Xia Brookside already have plenty of bad blood between them, and now the title is officially part of it.
