Kevin Owens is set to make a special appearance at WWE NXT Great American Bash this Sunday.
During the June 23, 2026, episode of WWE NXT, it was announced that Kevin Owens and Busted Open Radio’s Dave LaGreca will appear at the Great American Bash on June 28 at the Performance Center. While they did not explicitly state that he would be on television, the promotion has announced that the former Universal Champion will take part in the tailgate and watch party, which will take place before and during the show, respectively.
Owens has been out of action since April 2025 with a neck injury and is recovering from surgery. While there’s no word on when he would return to the ring, he has been a coach on season three of WWE LFG on A&E in the meantime.
Cody Rhodes mentioned Kevin Owens on WWE SmackDown (Spoiler)
WWE held the tapings for this Friday’s episode of SmackDown on June 23 at the O2 Arena in London, England. Ahead of the triple threat Undisputed WWE Championship match at Night of Champions, Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn came face-to-face on the show.

During their confrontation, Cody Rhodes took a jab at Sami Zayn for being friends with Kevin Owens, saying Zayn hasn’t won a world championship while Owens has.
“What do you expect of me just to keel over and hand you the WWE Championship? That’s not how this works…You know something that I can’t wrap my head around? The fact that you are best friends with Kevin Owens. Oh no! Let’s go there, right? That you’re best friends with Kevin Owens because there’s two main differences I see with you and him. One, Kevin Owens would have come out here, said what he meant, and stabbed me in the front, not the back. And the other, at least Kevin Owens has been WWE Champion,” Rhodes said.
