Kevin Nash Admits He Never Thought Hulk Hogan Would Actually Die

Kevin Nash knew Hulk Hogan wasn’t really immortal, but he admits part of him still never imagined the day would come when his longtime friend was actually gone.

During a conversation with Inside The Ropes, Nash spoke about getting older and losing so many people from his wrestling career. He said Scott Hall’s death will always stick with him because Hall was his best friend, but Hogan’s passing hit him in a completely different way. Nash explained that Hogan had been presented as “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan for so long that he simply never pictured Terry Bollea dying.

“They always called Hulk the Immortal Hulk Hogan. You know? And I — that was the one. I mean, I’ll never get over Scott because he was, you know, he was my best friend. But I just never pictured Terry dying.”

Nash said he still catches himself wanting to bust Hogan’s chops when talking about him, only to remember that Hogan is no longer there.

“I still, like when I talk about him, I kind of want to razz him a little bit, but then it’s just like, ‘No, you know, you got to kind of give him some love because he’s gone too.’”

Hogan, Nash and Scott Hall created one of wrestling’s most famous factions when they formed the NWO in 1996. With Hall and Hogan now gone, Nash is the only surviving member of the original trio, making those memories hit much differently three decades later.

Nash’s comments show how strange that adjustment still is for him. Hogan spent decades playing an almost larger-than-life character, and even for someone who knew the man behind it, imagining wrestling without him was difficult until it became reality.
