Jordan Henderson posts an update after details emerge on his freak injury jumping an advertising hoarding following England’s win vs Mexico.

While celebrating the Three Lions’ round of 16 victory at the 2026 World Cup, the 36 year old suffered a broken arm.

England players are reportedly to be told to avoid hurdling advertising boards for their Wonderwall celebrations to reduce the risk of any more freak injuries.

Henderson is expected to stay with the England squad in a supportive role, but that depends on whether doctors allow him to.

On the 7th of June, he wrote via his social media: “A night to remember that’s for sure!

“What an incredible performance against all the different challenges. So proud to be a part of this special team 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿💪

“Thanks for all the support, another big one Saturday ❤️”

He has since added: “Surgery done! Let’s get ready for the big one Saturday 💪

“Thank you to all the staff that looked after me at Kansas city orthopaedic institute. Especially the 3 surgeons who carried out the operation. ❤️

“Dr. Kenneth P. Unruh, Dr. Mark J Winston, Dr. Kirk McCullough”

England’s Harry Kane had at first played down the incident, telling the BBC after the game: “Jordan just fell over there. I think he’s OK, just something to do with his arm.”

But Jordan’s Dad, Brian, has since told the Daily Mail: “At first I just thought he’d fallen. I thought he’d maybe scraped his wrist.

“I had no idea it was that serious until they were interviewing Harry Kane and a trolley came past with Jordan on it. I could see him on there with oxygen and things.

“Straight away, I messaged his PA, who was over there, to try and find out what had happened. I was up all night waiting to hear the news.

“It’s just a waiting game now.

“It’s his left forearm – he’s just completely smashed it.

“He’s going to have a cast on and then it depends on what the experts say.

“He won’t be leaving his team-mates. He’ll be there until it’s finished.”

England’s players will be told to avoid hurdling advertising boards for their Wonderwall celebrations to minimise the risk of any more freak injuries.
