Wales boss Craig Bellamy faces another injury blow ahead of his side’s Nations League openers after Joe Rodon limped off with a hamstring injury during Leeds United’s Premier League draw with Brentford.

With Cardiff centre-back Dylan Lawlor set to be ruled out with a knee injury, Rodon also now appears a major doubt after coming off 33 minutes in at Elland Road.

The 28-year-old pulled up sharply after a challenge and immediately signalled to the bench to be substituted before being helped off.

The hosts went on to draw 1-1 after a late Dominic Calvert-Lewin goal cancelled out Kevin Schade’s opener, and afterwards Leeds boss Daniel Farke confirmed why his defender had come off.

“Rodon (has) got a hamstring injury,” he said.

“Very painful injury, big blow if he is out for a while.

“We have to assess him. Hopefully he’s not out too long. We do not have many senior centre-back options.”

The 28-year-old, who has 62 caps for his country, has been a mainstay under Bellamy and his potential absence would represent a huge blow for the trips to Portugal and Denmark on 24 and 27 September respectively.
