Janel Grant has shared a heartfelt personal update just days after a major development in her lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE. While she didn’t mention the case directly, she admitted she has been going through some personal struggles and thanked everyone who has supported her along the way.
This is Grant’s first public message since it was confirmed that her lawsuit against McMahon and WWE will no longer continue in federal court. Instead, the case will move to private arbitration, where the legal process will continue behind closed doors.
Janel Grant opens up about a difficult year
Grant shared her thoughts in an Instagram post on Wednesday, saying she has been struggling. She described the past several months as “a perfect storm.”
“I’ll be honest and say it… I’ve been struggling. It happened to be a perfect storm of everything and all at once. Thank you for checking in with me and for your patience,” Grant wrote.
Grant encouraged people to keep sending messages, saying their support has helped her through some very hard days. She also mentioned an episode of Anderson Cooper’s podcast about grief, explaining that hearing from other people made her feel less alone.
She also shared how much she has stayed away from public life, revealing that she has only gone outside five times this year. Even so, she said she is determined to keep moving forward.
“I believe that making a difference in the world begins with how we show up in it. I have been outside 5 times this year. But here I am. And I’m still showing up to be part of the solution,” Grant wrote.
Although she didn’t mention Vince McMahon, WWE, or the lawsuit, the timing of her post came just after a major legal update.
Earlier this week, lawyers for Grant, WWE, and Vince McMahon filed a joint update with the U.S. District Court in Connecticut. They confirmed that everyone had agreed to move the case into private arbitration.
As part of that agreement, Grant will officially dismiss her federal lawsuit against WWE and McMahon. However, that doesn’t end the dispute. Both sides will continue presenting their arguments through arbitration instead of in court.
