Jade Cargill experienced her worst nightmare on the June 12 episode of WWE SmackDown when an unexpected wig malfunction stole the spotlight during her first-round Queen of the Ring match.

Cargill competed in a Fatal Four-Way against Charlotte Flair, Lyra Valkyria, and Sol Ruca, with a place in the next round up for grabs. The match was fast-paced and had way too many spots, but one unfortunate spot became the main talking point.

Charlotte Flair and Sol Ruca’s superplex led to Jade Cargill’s wig mishap

The incident happened when Cargill climbed to the top rope, seemingly preparing for a big move. Before she could take off, Charlotte Flair cut her off and joined her on the turnbuckle. Then came Sol Ruca.

Both Flair and Ruca picked up Cargill and delivered a Superplex that brought The Storm crashing down to the mat.

It looked like the impact was quite heavy, and the jerk accidentally pulled Cargill’s wig off, revealing her natural black hair.

Cargill immediately realized what had happened and tried to fix the situation. She briefly rolled out of the ring to readjust her wig before getting back into the match. However, it was clear that the issue continued to bother her for the rest of the contest.

Fans noticed that Cargill repeatedly kept one hand near her head to make sure the wig stayed in place. Even during major spots, including taking Sol Ruca’s Sol Snatcher, she instinctively reached up to secure it.

The tough night only got tougher for Cargill when Charlotte Flair picked up the victory. Flair forced Lyra Valkyria to tap out with the Figure Eight, advancing to the next round of the Queen of the Ring tournament.

That meant Cargill missed out on moving one step closer to earning another shot at WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley.

However, Cargill handled the awkward moment with humor.

After SmackDown, she addressed the situation on X and wrote, “yall. Biggest fear happened tonight and I think I’m still alive. My wig won though,” she wrote.

yall. Biggest fear happened tonight and I think I’m still alive. My wig won though. ???‍♀️
