Jack McEvilly reacts after amusing fans with his gone viral first interview after signing for Tranmere Rovers.
The new addition caused quite the response from fans, who claimed he didn’t exactly look too happy when speaking with the club media on joining, while some couldn’t understand him due to his accent.
His interview was posted onto Tranmere’s Twitter, getting over 5,000 likes, hundreds of comments, and over 6million views in left than 24 hours.
Jack McEvilly has since seen the attention he’s been getting and posted new photos on Instagram of him from the photoshoot.

JACK’S INTERVIEW:
Interviewer: First of all, Jack, welcome to Tranmere. How does it feel to join the club?
Jack: I’m delighted to be here to be fair. sBeen here for a few weeks training to get started and get the season up and running.
Interviewer: As you say, you’ve been here for a few weeks training. How’s that been getting to know your new teammates, meeting the manager?
Jack: Good group of lads to be fair. Made me feel welcome from the first day. See, I knew Sam Finley a bit and he made me feel welcome. So did the other lads and know a few of the other boys in on trial as well.
Interviewer: We played a few preseason friendlies so far, including a 3-0 victory over Bootle and a 2-0 victory over Blackpool. How were both of those?
Jack: They were good. You know, it was a good little taste to men’s football. So, came from an academy setup last year, so bit of a different game, but I enjoyed them and obviously pre-season friendly, but it was all good to win.
Interviewer: What was it about Tranmere specifically that made you want to join the club?
Jack: I was here when I was from 8 to 10 before the academy shut down and and I went to Burnley for a bit and then soon as I there was a bit of interest there I was always going to come here.
Interviewer: We’ll touch on your time at Burnley. Obviously, you know, a Premier League club, Championship club, sort of alternative last you know, few sort of years, but a great experience there learning I imagine.
Jack: Yeah, it was a great experience there. I loved it, nine years and to be fair, the player I am today and I couldn’t thank them enough to be fair, but I enjoy me time there and everything that happens for a reason.
Interviewer: And you’re now back at Tram. I’m sure you’ve got a good sense of the size of the club.
Jack: Yeah, I do love the club that made me fall in love with football and ever since then I’ve kept a close eye on the club and soon as I lose interest into this I was always going to come back.
Interviewer: You’ve already played in the pre-season friendly at Prenton Park against Blackpool but how much you’re looking forward to playing in front of the Super White Army?
Jack: I’m looking forward to it. You know, I haven’t really played in front of a massive fan base and that little taste in front of the fans were preseason friendly. It’s made me hungry for more. Can’t wait to meet them.
Interviewer: And it’s one of the biggest stadiums, you know, capacity attendance in the division. So, you looking forward to playing League 2 football, getting some sort of senior football under your belt?
Jack: I am looking forward to it. I can’t wait. See, at my age, I think like that’s a valuable experience getting men’s football and playing in front of a crowd like that in the stadium this big. So, looking forward to the challenge.
Interviewer: And it’s not long until the first competitive game against Rochdale, start of August. How much you looking forward to just getting going now?
Jack: Yeah, I can’t wait for it to be looking forward. You see pre-season’s got that, but once you’ve been in it for a few weeks, just waiting for the season to start and can’t wait. So, looking forward to it.
Interviewer: I know you yourself, we know you’re a centre back, but can you tell us a bit more about your game?
Jack: I’m a centre back. I like to defend, like to the ball, like to block shots, and I love being on the ball. I like playing out from the box, making passes, switching the play, all that sort of stuff like starting attacks.
Interviewer: And what are you hoping to achieve sort of individually and collectively from the season?
Jack: Hoping to play as many minutes as possible, help the team get where they want to be, where they want to achieve, help the gaffer get what what he wants, wins and results, and ultimately put a smile on the fans faces, you know, get results of the club, get them where they should be.
Interviewer: And finally for those fans, what is your message directly to them?
Jack: Can’t wait to see youse.
