Jon Moxley won the inaugural Continental Challenge Cup at AEW All In: London.
Jon Moxley and Nigel McGuinness competed in the finals of the inaugural Continental Challenge Cup for the Continental Championship at AEW All In: London. Moxley found his way to the match by defeating Jack Perry, Jay White, and fellow Death Riders member Claudio Castagnoli in the earlier rounds. McGuinness earned the opportunity after overcoming Katsuyori Shibata, Hechicero, and Kyle O’Reilly.
Nigel McGuinness put on a valiant effort in the match, but Jon Moxley was in no mood to walk out of AEW All In: London without the Continental Cup and the Championship. Moxley looked to punish McGuinness by removing the tape supporting his injured ankle. However, McGuinness broke free by wrapping the tape across Moxley’s face.
The back-and-forth match went on for a little over 17 minutes. The final moments saw Jon Moxley lock Nigel McGuinness in an ankle lock. As McGuinness crawled towards the ropes, Moxley let go for a while and followed it up with a curb stomp. He then locked in the ankle lock once again.
Nigel McGuinness crawled toward the ropes and was only inches away from breaking the submission. However, the pain was too intense, and he ended up tapping out. The Death Riders came out after the match to join their leader, as Jon Moxley went to the back as the inaugural AEW Continental Challenge Cup winner and also retained the title.
The crowd at Wembley Stadium gave an emotional Nigel McGuinness a loud ovation after the match.
