Morgan Rogers is a target for Chelsea and a lot of other teams this summer. But would he come to Stamford Bridge above the competition?

There’s a desire at Chelsea to add an effective, Premier League experienced, ready made attacker to improve the first team this summer. One name that keeps coming up is Morgan Rogers.

He’s a long term target, as our writer Simon Phillips makes clear in his latest Substack. But a number of teams want him, and Chelsea’s failings this season leave them in a bad position to beat the competition.

Phillips’ take on the state of play is that Rogers has not “rejected” a move to Chelsea. The club have made the attacker’s representatives aware that he’s of interest, and he’s “left the door open” to a move.

He will want to see what other options he has, and Chelsea will probably wait for bids to start coming in to see whether a deal is realistic for them. A lack of Champions League football is pretty damaging to our chances – but not necessarily fatal.

It’s going to be a very interesting summer to come…

    In other news…

Estevao has been speaking about his hamstring injury – it’s about as bad as one can get, but his recovery has been phenomenal already.

Cole was also realistic about the future of Enzo Fernandez – Chelsea may struggle to hold on to one of Europe’s best in his position.
