“We’re just asking for money that’s owed,” Hearn told iFL TV. “I don’t want to go too much into that because that’s a separate time. It’s a lot of money. There’s another time and a place for that. We’re not asking for anything new. We’re just asking for our contractual obligations to be honored.”

Returning to the subject while listing the terms required for Joshua to accept a change of location, Hearn explained that moving the fight to the United States would leave Joshua with a larger tax bill, requiring an increased payment to cover the difference.

He then said Matchroom expects outstanding payments to be made, before clarifying that the money may be owed directly to Joshua rather than his promotional company.

The interviewer followed up by asking if Joshua had received his purse for the Prenga fight. Hearn declined to provide a yes-or-no answer, describing it as a contractual matter that would be discussed another day.

His refusal leaves an important part of the dispute unresolved. Hearn denied that unpaid Matchroom invoices for unrelated events are being used as leverage in the Fury negotiations, but he did not deny that Joshua himself is waiting for money.

Sela is asking Joshua to surrender the British location written into his contract and accept a fight in New York. If payment from his previous appearance has not been completed, Matchroom has an obvious reason to demand stronger financial protections before agreeing to another change.

The addendum includes compensation for the tax difference along with travel, accreditation and media arrangements, Hearn said. No response had arrived from Sela when the interview was recorded.

The unanswered Prenga purse issue remains distinct from the leaked Matchroom requests. Until Hearn confirms that Joshua was paid, his repeated references to outstanding obligations will continue to hang over the Fury negotiations.
