A GoFundMe appeal launched by 11th tier club Norton Athletic, who have achieved 6 promotions in the last 7 seasons.

Norton Athletic FC explained via their GoFundMe page:

Help Us Build the Future of Norton Athletic FC

Established in 1920, Norton Athletic Football Club has been at the heart of our community for more than 100 years.

Following one of the most successful periods in the club’s history, we’ve achieved six promotions in the last seven seasons, lifted the Norfolk Junior Cup in 2025, won the Anglian Combination Division Two Championship, and now proudly compete in the Anglian Combination Premier Division.

Whilst the progress on the pitch has been remarkable, we now face our biggest challenge yet — ensuring our facilities continue to match the ambitions of our football club.

This summer also marks another major milestone in our journey.

The club’s committee has approved the transition to become a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC), strengthening our governance, improving eligibility for future grant funding and ensuring Norton Athletic FC remains a sustainable community asset for generations to come.

    Our ambition is simple.

To build one of Norfolk’s leading community football clubs by investing in our facilities, our people and our community.

This fundraiser isn’t simply about improving a building.

It’s about creating a lasting legacy.

    Our Vision

We’ve developed a long-term plan to continue transforming Norton Athletic FC into a sustainable Community Amateur Sports Club that serves players, supporters, volunteers and future generations.

Every improvement we make today creates opportunities for tomorrow.

Phase One – Creating The Community Hub

Our immediate priority is transforming our newly acquired modular building into a welcoming clubhouse overlooking the pitch at The Highfield.

This clubhouse will become the heart of Norton Athletic FC.

    It will provide:

A welcoming social space for supporters and residents
A matchday bar and refreshments area
    A venue for community events
A home for sponsors and volunteers
A dedicated space for player presentations
    Club functions and fundraising events
A permanent home for the growing Norton Athletic family

The clubhouse is the single most important investment we currently face because it creates the revenue streams that will allow the club to become increasingly self-sustainable.

    Once operational, income generated through:

    Clubhouse events
    Bar sales
    Venue hire
    Membership subscriptions
    Sponsorship
    Merchandise sales

will help reduce reliance on fundraising whilst supporting the long-term future of the football club.

As the clubhouse has already been purchased, the Funds raised through this campaign will contribute towards:

    Groundworks
    Electrical installation
    Internal partitioning
    Bar construction
    Flooring
    Furniture
    Kitchen equipment
    Fridges and freezers
    Security improvements
    Painting and decorating
    Safety works
    General fit-out

Every donation brings us one step closer to opening the doors.

Phase Two – Improving The Matchday Experience

Alongside the clubhouse project, we’re continuing to improve every aspect of the matchday experience at The Highfield.

Over recent months we’ve already invested significantly in the club, including the installation of a new pitch irrigation system, helping us protect and improve our playing surface for years to come.

Our next improvements being installed before the new season kicks off include:

    Electronic LED scoreboard
    Public Address (PA) System
    Team Line-Up Board
    Retractable Players’ Tunnel
    Improved spectator facilities
    Enhanced branding throughout the ground

These improvements will help create one of the best grassroots matchday experiences in Norfolk whilst supporting the continued development of our football club.

We want The Highfield to become somewhere people choose to spend their Saturday afternoons.

    Investing In The Next Generation

Football doesn’t stop with the First Team.

This season also sees the launch of Norton Development, creating a clear pathway for ambitious young players to progress into senior football.

Together with our Veterans team and wider football programme, we’re building a club that provides opportunities for players of all ages whilst strengthening our connection with the local community.

Every improvement we make today helps develop tomorrow’s players.

    Building A Sustainable Future

Everything we’re doing forms part of one long-term vision.

A professionally governed Community Amateur Sports Club that is financially sustainable, deeply rooted within the community and continually improving both on and off the pitch.

Through improved facilities, stronger governance, growing sponsorship, memberships, merchandise, community events and future grant funding, we’re creating the foundations for a football club that future generations can be proud of.

    Why This Matters

Norton Athletic FC currently provides football opportunities for more than 100 registered players, with that number continuing to grow.

But this project is about far more than football.

It’s about creating a place where:

    Families come together
    Young people develop through sport
    Friendships are formed
    Volunteers are recognised
    Local businesses support their community
    Residents have somewhere to meet
Future generations continue enjoying grassroots football

The Highfield is becoming much more than a football ground.

    It’s becoming a community hub.

Leave Your Mark On The Club

Every supporter who contributes to this campaign will become part of Norton Athletic FC’s history.

As a thank you, every donor will be permanently recognised on our Founders & Supporters Wall inside the new clubhouse.

Whether you donate £25 or £2,500, your name will forever form part of the story of how Norton Athletic FC built its future.

Long after this campaign has finished, future players, supporters and visitors will be able to see the names of those who helped make it possible.

    Help Us Build Something Special

Every donation, no matter the amount, helps build something that will benefit our players, supporters and community for generations to come.

    Every brick laid.

    Every chair installed.

Every young player who progresses through our football pathway.

Every supporter who enjoys a matchday at The Highfield.

Every community event held inside our new clubhouse.

All of it will be possible because people like you chose to support Norton Athletic FC.

If you’re unable to donate today, you can still make a huge difference by sharing this fundraiser with friends, family, former players, local businesses and anyone who believes in grassroots football.

Together, we can build something that the whole community can be proud of.

Thank you for being part of our journey.
