The 2026/27 season is just around the corner, and with that in mind, we look to FourFourTwo who predicts the National League table.

We turn our attention to the fifth tier division, and as always, it causes plenty of reaction and debates on social media with many checking out the bookies odds.

You can order your copy of the FourFourTwo magazine, including the much loved season preview magazine by clicking HERE.

Have a look at who they thought would finish from 24th to 1st below, some will surprise, others not so…

    24) HORNCHURCH – FourFourTwo said in their verdict: “Hornchurch are making their fifth-tier bow and they’ve gone full-time in their bid to survive – which means losing several key players.

“The Urchins are giving Rob Lee (director of football) and Anton Ferdinand (first-team coach) their first ever taste of such roles, but the former Dagenham & Redbridge boss Daryl McMahon knows all about the level, and he has added experience in ex-Barnet defender Joe Kizzi and former Southend striker Josh Walker. 24th”

    23) WORTHING – FourFourTwo said in their verdict: “Adam Hinshelwood began last season as York City manager and ended it back at his former club, Worthing, celebrating a National League South title win.

“Although promotion had been coming for years, this is still a big step into the unknown for the Mackerel Men. Nine players have moved on. Nonetheless, star men such as Brad Dolaghan and Teddy Jenks will hope to make an impact, alongside new signing Noor Husin, an international with Afghanistan. 23rd”

    22) GATESHEAD – FourFourTwo said in their verdict: “The Heed looked doomed after 13 consecutive league defeats, but Rob Elliot returned to deliver the mother of all Great Escapes with 31 points from their next 15 games – and then left for Carlisle.

“Lee Cattermole takes a tricky first step into management, following spells coaching at Middlesbrough and Bristol Rovers. 22nd”

    21) KIDDERMINSTER – FourFourTwo said in their verdict: “The promotion bubbly was barely flat when Adam Murray left for Barrow, mere hours after Kiddy’s National League North play-off triumph.
Paul Wotton, formerly of Torquay, has replaced him and been given a rebuilding task.

“Lewis Walker (son of Des, brother of Tyler) hit double figures last year for relegated Braintree, while Zak Brown has returned from Brackley. 21st

    20) EASTLEIGH – FourFourTwo said in their verdict: “A dreadful run-in nearly took the Spitfires down and Matt Gray, a National League title-winning gaffer with Sutton, was hired in May to hit the reset button.

“Ex-Cheltenham defender Ibrahim Bakare has been unveiled and elder statesmen moved on; there’s a lot more work to do. 20th”

    19) SOLIHULL – FourFourTwo said in their verdict: “Things fell flat last season but, having rescued Moors from their shocking start and taken them to 14th, manager Chris Millington hopes they can capture the locals’ imagination in 2026-27.

“Matty Carson joins from Boston and Joe Sbarra has returned for a second permanent spell, after last season’s loan from Doncaster. 19th”

    18) WEALDSTONE – FourFourTwo said in their verdict: “You want some? Wealdstone will be looking to build on their FA Trophy final appearance under the experienced Gary Waddock, who replaced Sam Cox in February and has kept a strong core of the squad, including Kenyan international forward Micah Obiero.

“Waddock will need to fix last term’s woeful record on the road. 18th”

    17) ALDERSHOT – FourFourTwo said in their verdict: “Scott Davies must have caused an ink shortage in Aldershot – his pen hasn’t stopped since he swapped Slough for the club where he won the
    2007-08 Conference title.

“It’s a total revamp: 17 signings before mid-June, from goalkeeper Nick Hayes and Bromley attacker Marcus Dinanga to a trio of tyros brought in from Reading. 17th”
