Fans react to Wolves’ training being cancelled due to Tolu Arokodare’s refusal to leave the pitch having been asked not to train with squad.

Nathan Judah stated that the new boss Cesar Peixoto wasn’t tolerating ‘player power’ and poor discipline levels during Monday’s session.

Extra security enforced was needed at Compton Park on Tuesday to make sure he was not at training ground, with the 25 year old footballer not included in the squad the friendly at Maidenhead.

@wolvesfancast tweeted: “The exclusion of Tolu by Cesar Peixoto has been met with the approval of the #wwfc squad. The group feeling is that this will strengthen the spirit and allow for everyone to understand that there’s a leader inside the club now – and no disrespect to authority will be allowed.”

@daveazzopardi said on the latest episode of Talking Wolves: “As always, this isn’t the first instance of Tolu rocking the boat a little bit. If you remember earlier on this season, I think it was after the West Ham United game, he reportedly had a running, I say reportedly, it did happen, he had a running with Mane, which once again caused a little bit of a reaction.

“But looking at this, there’s so much to unpack because obviously he’s a player that wants to leave the football club. That’s even more evident now. There is interested him. There’s been a few peculiar things over the last week which probably have peed him off a little bit more for argument sake he wasn’t going to Portugal last week and then because Adam Armstrong had a little knock he was forced to fly over to Portugal for the last couple of days of the training camp but didn’t actually participate at any point in the training game against Estoril.

“So he’s sort of flown over there just to train which again that is part of his job you know to join up with a squad and there may well have been drills that they wanted to do that you know to include him in. Um, and for me, you know, I listen to there are podcasts out there with former football players and there are there have been times where they say, “Look, when they want to leave a club, they got to force a move and they will be disruptive in training.”

“And I’ve tried to sort of clarify this story and that’s exactly what they said. He was just being disruptive. Because there had been a few responses to this saying, well, he legally has to train at the football club. You can’t make him not train. And the way the the tweet was worded was when he was asked not to train with the club. Whereas I don’t think Wolves would just say to actually you’re not coming to training today or to you’re not actually taking part in training. There will be a reason for it.

“And if they start in training and he’s not cooperating or he’s kicking the ball 30 40 yards away uh from where you know they’re playing then of course that’s disruptive and he’s ruining it for the rest of the squad. You know you got one player ruining it for sort of 25 plus other players. So it it completely makes sense.

“Now will this force a move or will this force Wolves to speed things up? Yeah, probably. What it may well do though is dent to reputation a little bit. uh this story will spread and I think other teams Genoa are the latest team interested but obviously Fiorentina and Trabzonspor are the teams sort of named interested are going to look at this and think really but what it also does it makes Wolves negotiation a little bit weaker because there are going to be clubs that are interested in Tolu and saying well look you guys are desperate surely you’re going to want to get rid of him now.

“So yeah it’ll be interesting to see if anything does anything else does come of this but ultimately Tolu Arokodare the current state of play, I don’t know whether he’s back in training or not but definitely on Tuesday he wasn’t at training and I would assume now a move away for him will accelerate over the over the coming days because there has been interest there but Wolves probably rightly so have been wanting to make sure they’re getting a good end of the deal especially with the amount of money they spent on him last summer.

“But now I think that this is going to force their hand even more to try and get a deal across the line and is probably not going to be a deal that suits Wolves too much to be completely honest, but Tolu you would assume now set very much set to leave the football club after this and this is the behaviour that we don’t necessarily or we definitely don’t want to be seeing really ahead of what is going to be quite a crucial season for the football club to hopefully get back into the Premier League at the first time of asking. this is part of the the the playing squad that we need to move on and yeah, I really hope this doesn’t set a trend for other players that want to move on to start being disruptive as well.

@WV1Rep: Shambles all over. This is what happens when you have absent, disinterested owners with no control or knowledge of what’s happening. Even after Jeff’s departure the club is still a farce and always will be until they leave.

@GoldenPalaceWW: Dont think this is an ownership issue. The player has to train if under contract.

@WV1Rep: Of course it’s an ownership issue, owners are pivotal in the modern game and are responsible for the culture and everything that happens at a club as well as the people in place making the decisions and recruitment. The rot sets from the top.

@Nocky1982: Club feels like a circus again.

@MolineuxExpress: Fair play to Cesar for putting his foot down but I wonder why he didn’t allow Tolu to train? Perhaps because he’s all but set to be leaving. Unless he’s causing issues, I can’t see why he wouldn’t be allowed to train. All down to the manager though of course 🤷🏼‍♂️ #wwfc

@Theoldgoldchat: Not a good look at all, Have a lot of respect for Peixoto, player power needs to be handled but it massively costs us even getting out in the media, how do we sell him now?

@thegafferalex: Let’s not jump to conclusions and assume the worst of Tolu before we know all sides to the story. Don’t forget, he wasn’t originally selected to travel to Portugal, then the club decide to fly him out for 2 days & he didn’t even play vs Estoril anyway #wwfc

@tom94halton: Paid thousands and thousands by the club, think they have the right to say what they do with him. From a human perspective not great however how many of us on here have been shafted by work and just have to get on with it because we have to 🤷🏻‍♂️
