Chelsea’s star man Cole Palmer was outstanding on Monday night, and he’s since spoken about the injury issues which held him back.

Cole Palmer’s performance on Monday night against Fulham was about more than just a match winning display. For Chelsea fans who have watched him struggle massively for 18 months, there were genuine questions about whether we would ever see him at his best again.

The relief of seeing the attacker in full flow was massive, and it’s clear that the physical problems that have hampered him so much are at least partly behind him.

Speaking to Sky Sports this week, he revealed how difficult it was, to be too hurt to play at 100% but not injured enough to be left out entirely.

“It was just a bit of a sticky situation. I didn’t really know how to deal with it, but it’s one of those things. I was just seeing different people, getting different ideas of why I was injured and what it was,” Palmer said.

“Since I’ve come back I’ve been working every day to obviously stop it happening again. I just want to stay injury free, and if I’m on the pitch then I know what I can do.”

He won’t play tonight, but we can’t wait to see him in full flow this weekend again.

    In other news…

Marc Guiu is on his way out of Chelsea, and it seems that a deal with Napoli is getting done as we speak.

A deal to sign Honest Ahanor from Atalanta is getting very advanced, according to Fabrizio Romano, who says a €40m deal is being done.
