BoxingScene Today for July 3, 2026 – Despite it being the 250th birthday of the United States of America tomorrow, Chris Algieri and Coach Robert Garcia are in-studio because, as they put it, “boxing never sleeps.”

Algieri and Garcia begin by talking about Oscar De La Hoya’s hot take on a potential Ryan Garcia vs. Conor Benn fight, that “fans don’t want the fight.” Both men disagree with De La Hoya and wonder if he’s working a promotional angle by saying it.

The topic then turns to Oleksandr Usyk relinquishing his championship belts in a move that Coach Garcia says shows “great character,” by not holding up the division.

They then turn to WBC super featherweight champion O’Shaquie Foster’s calling out Shakur Stevenson, a move they label as “bad ass.”

Speaking of boxing not stopping for holidays, the two talk about tomorrow night’s Abdullah Mason-Albert Bell fight, then discuss the upcoming Errol Spence-Tim Tszyu fight on Saturday, July 25, and how things turned nasty this week when Spence skipped a scheduled faceoff via Zoom on Fox.

The show ends, as always, with an insightful question and answer session from viewer comments.
