Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Lamine Camara from Monaco, with various top sources reporting on the impending deal.
Fabrizio Romano was among the first to talk about the deal, saying that Chelsea had “made contact” with the 22 year old’s camp and that the 22 year old would be “open to joining Chelsea.” There was a direct meeting between the clubs yesterday.
Journalist Lassana Camara has gone a step further, saying that a medical is already booked for this weekend after an agreement was reached.

Chelsea preparing for Enzo sale with major Camara bid

Nizaar Kinsella followed up by saying that Monaco had rejected a £43m+ offer from Crystal Palace earlier in the summer, implying the Blues have offered a lot more.
Of course all this implies that a deal will finally be done for Enzo Fernandez, who is being strongly linked with a £120m+ move to Man City. He was left out of the squad in midweek, and we suspect that will be the same story tomorrow.

In other news…
Xabi Alonso played Cole Palmer for 90 minutes against Luton Town this week, which surprised a lot of people.
We have now had it confirmed by Alonso what the plans for young Mike Penders are, after he made his first start for Chelsea this evening.
The most awkward question post game was about Enzo Fernandez, who was left out of the squad entirely. Alonso did his best to dodge as much of it as possible.
