Chelsea Green has opened up about the Kofi Kingston and Daniel Bryan comparison WWE CCO Triple H invoked about her recent rise in the company.

Green has become one of the surprise stories of the year. After gaining a lot of support from WWE fans, she won the five-woman Ladder Match at SummerSlam to become the Interim WWE Women’s Champion.

Chelsea Green explains her reaction to Triple H’s comparison involving Daniel Bryan and Kofi Kingston

While speaking to Complex Graps, Green was asked if she saw any similarities between her rise and the journeys of Bryan and Kingston. Green admitted that she did not make the connection herself at first. However, fans started making the comparison, and Triple H eventually brought it up with her backstage.

“So, I didn’t until people started saying that to me after Unreal season one came out. I would be so narcissistic to like be comparing myself to somebody so incredible. But, of course, once the world told me that and actually Triple H pulled me aside and told me that, and he compared me to the likes of Daniel Bryan and Kofi. I was like, ‘Wow. What an amazing group to be put into,’” Green said.

For Green, the comparison means a lot because Bryan and Kingston both became major WWE stars thanks in large part to fan support.

Bryan’s rise reached its peak at WrestleMania 30. The “Yes” movement catapulted him and made him one of the biggest stars in WWE. It eventually led to him winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

A few years later, Kingston had a similar moment with “KofiMania.” Fans rallied behind him. Their support helped turn his WrestleMania 35 WWE Championship win into one of the biggest moments of his career.

Green feels that WWE fans have played a similar role in her own rise.

“The fact that whatever comes my way is coming my way because the fans have literally strong-armed creative and the company into giving me these things. I mean, I don’t wanna downplay my hard work but at the end of the day, they have been steering the ship for the past couple of months, and they steered it and docked it at SummerSlam in this Ladder match, winning the title. That’s so incredible to me,” Green said.

However, her championship situation is still a little complicated. Green currently holds the Interim WWE Women’s Championship. Rhea Ripley suffered a meniscus injury that required surgery, and this paved the way for the introduction of the title.

Green’s future as champion could depend on what happens when Ripley comes back.
