Wolverhampton Wanderers v Stoke City Prediction

Wolverhampton Wanderers preview – Highest ranked of those three clubs relegated from the Premier League. Four points is a decent return for new boss Cesar Peixoto who was appointed on 11th June.
Stoke City preview – Two consecutive defeats featuring five goals leaked. However I felt they were rather unlucky during last Saturday’s 3-1 loss at Southampton where very late goals in the 89th and 94th minutes tilted matters in the home team’s favour.
Score prediction: Wolves warm-hearted 3-1.
Southampton v Millwall Prediction
- Kick-off: 3pm
- Rankings: 24th versus 1st
Southampton preview – Rock bottom on minus 1 point because Saints commenced this new campaign nursing an EFL imposed four points deduction reflecting the much publicised ‘Spygate’ saga. Although I was impressed by how they kept going until the very end to grind out a victorious 3-1 scoreline in the aforementioned home game against Stoke City.
Millwall preview – Top of the pile on two wins and no goals conceded. Clearly no hangover from losing in the 2025/26 Championship Play-Off Semi-Finals then.
Score prediction: Yawn inducing 0-0.
Charlton Athletic v Preston North End Prediction
- Kick-off: 3pm
- Rankings: 3rd versus 21st
Charlton Athletic preview – A surprise package amid the 100 percent stakes having spent much of 2025/26 in the lower half of our Championship table. Tyreece Campbell has supplied winning goals in both of their 2-1 successes to date.
He signed a new four year contract on Tuesday. I was particularly captivated by Charlton’s stunning triumph at West Ham United last Saturday in the cross-London derby before 62,264 spectators.
Preston North End preview – Two EFL defeats within two attempts. In fact, merely four victories beyond early January for Preston. It means boss Paul Heckingbottom is under increasing pressure to turn things around.
Score prediction: Carry on Charlton 4-2.
Watford v West Ham United Prediction
- Kick-off: 3pm
- Rankings: 7th versus 16th
Watford preview – New head coach Alessio Dionisi is unbeaten totting up four points on the board. That’s a boost for him since Watford tend to change their management staff every few months!
West Ham United preview – Just one point for relegated Hammers. Star man Jarrod Bowen may have committed his future to the East London club but TV cameras showed he had a devastated look on his face following last Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat versus Charlton Athletic.
Score prediction: West Ham’s first win 3-2.
