Brooke Havok just got hit with another brutal setback. The independent wrestling standout has torn her ACL and meniscus, needs surgery, and is now facing a long stretch away from the ring while the bills keep coming.
Havok suffered the knee injury during a September 4 event in Philadelphia, where she was teaming with Janai Kai and Amira. What initially looked like a bad in-ring scare turned into something much worse once she got the knee checked out.
The diagnosis confirmed Havok tore her ACL and meniscus and will need surgery before she can even start thinking about another comeback. For an independent wrestler, that means no matches, no bookings and no regular wrestling income while medical expenses pile up.
That’s where Jonathan Gresham stepped in. Gresham launched a GoFundMe to help Havok cover her medical expenses and everyday costs while she’s unable to wrestle. The situation is especially personal because Havok was one of the wrestlers who helped Gresham find his way back to the ring after his own health scare in 2025, which Ringside News previously covered after Gresham revealed he suffered two strokes. Gresham explained why he wanted to return the favor now that Havok is the one staring down a difficult recovery.
“Earlier this year, Brooke Havok became part of a small group of wrestlers who helped me find my way back to the ring after my stroke in 2025. Our sessions were never really about one person teaching another. They became a place where we could share ideas, challenge each other, talk about the craft we love, and simply help each other get better.
Brooke fit in immediately. She brought an incredible attitude, a great personality, and a work ethic that you can’t teach.
Unfortunately, Brooke is now facing an injury that will keep her out of the ring while she recovers.
For an independent professional wrestler, being injured doesn’t just mean losing the ability to wrestle. It means losing a significant part of your income while medical expenses and everyday bills continue.
Every dollar raised through this GoFundMe will go directly to Brooke to help with her recovery, medical-related expenses, and financial needs while she’s unable to wrestle.
Brooke was there during a chapter when I was finding my way back. Now I’d like for us to be there for her while she finds her way back.
If you’ve ever enjoyed watching Brooke wrestle, worked with her, shared a locker room with her, or simply want to support someone who has given so much of herself to this craft, please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser.
Let’s give Brooke one less thing to worry about so she can focus on healing and getting back to doing what she loves.
We’re with you, homie. You got this.”
This is an especially nasty break for Havok because she has already battled serious knee trouble earlier in her career. Now she’s staring down another surgery, another rehab grind and another stretch where wrestling has to take a back seat.
The good news is she’s not walking into that fight alone. Gresham knows exactly what it’s like to have wrestling ripped away by a health scare, and now he’s trying to make sure Havok can worry about fixing her knee instead of how she’s going to pay for everything while she’s sidelined.
What do you think about Jonathan Gresham stepping up for Brooke Havok as she prepares for surgery? Leave your thoughts, well wishes and feedback in the comments.
