The transfer tug of war over Trevoh Chalobah continues. Ben Jacobs is the latest to weigh in on the situation, claiming that Chelsea have rejected two bids from Como, who now seem to be in the hot-seat after fellow Italian side Inter Milan dropped back.
Jacobs insists that “talks continue” with Como, and that “other clubs” remain interested in the defender. That’s what the Blues are banking on, as they hold out for the best price possible for a player who will go on the books as “pure profit.”
Chalobah’s future remains uncertain after contradictory claims
What’s funny about this news is that it’s a direct rejection of what fellow insider Gianluca Di Marzio said earlier today. The Italian journalist claimed that Como are “ready to close the deal,” and that both are “expected to finalise the last agreements” in the last few days.
He agrees that there were two offers rejected – he just claims there’s a third which has been accepted.
We will find out in the near future who is right – although of course it’s perfectly possible that third bid which Di Marzio is saying has been accepted could yet happen.
