Ben Jacobs did a short for GiveMeSport today where he updated us all on the status of Enzo Fernandez’s potential move to Real Madrid. It seems their new manager is having a say in their transfer activity.
Jose Mourinho weighs in on Enzo deal
“Enzo Fernandez wants to leave. He wants to join Real Madrid,” Jacobs reiterated.
“He has made no secret of that. He would like to be with Marc Cucurella in leaving Chelsea, but Chelsea‘s valuation has to be met. What I can tell you is that talks are already ‘underway’ between the clubs
“It’s also true that [new manager] Jose Mourinho has put forward Enzo Fernandez. So things are developing between Real Madrid and the camp of Enzo Fernandez… he’s only got one dream club in mind.”
Ultimately this deal suits both clubs and Enzo… but it could be a very long battle to get into a position where the price is acceptable to both sides. Chelsea paid more than £100m for the Argentine, and will want all of it back, if not more.
