Enzo Fernandez’s prospective move to Real Madrid is going to be the big saga of the summer – but Marc Cucurella’s potential transfer to Atletico Madrid might not be far behind.
The left back opened the door to a move back in March, and while he’s since insisted he’s happy, the rumours continue that a move could happen.
Marc Cucurella could be priced out of move by firm Chelsea stance

Cucurella has two years left on his contract, and a sale now would actually suit Chelsea quite well if they can get a good price. There is one issue – if they price Atletico out, the Spanish side have other options.
Matteo Moretto’s update on the situation claims that Diego Simeone’s side are now looking at Alejandro Grimaldo, who is a cheaper alternative to Cucurella.
This seems like a bit of a media leak from Atletico to try and let Chelsea know they won’t be held to ransom. They want a left back, Cucurella would happily move home, and the Blues want a sale if he won’t sign a new deal.
It all fits too neatly to fall at the first hurdle.
In other news…
Xabi Alonso is just a few weeks away from starting work, and we can’t wait to see what he comes up with in terms of playing style.
Cucurella continues to be asked about his future, but has so far resisted pushing for a move away from Chelsea too openly.
