AEW Dynamite Results (7/1/2026): Live Match Updates and Highlights

The show opens up with Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness welcoming us as we see a post-main event backstage promo from AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door between Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay. Moxley says the business has always been filled with carnies and it’s up to them to protect this place, preserve this craft and to be of service. Moxley then offers Ospreay a match with The Death Riders and says he is proud of him. Ospreay is then met by Kenny Omega.

We then see an interaction between Kenny Omega and Ospreay. Osprey tells Omega that he hasn’t given up on himself and hints that Omega has. MJF then shows up and mocks the two, calling it a lover’s conversation. Omega then warns MJF to look ahead to Dynamite, where he would face Mark Briscoe. MJF then tells Ospreay that he’ll see him in Wembley.

Mark Briscoe then makes his way down to the ring for the first match of the night and MJF follows.

AEW World Championship Match: MJF (c) vs. The Conglomeration’s Mark Briscoe

The match starts off with some “let’s go Briscoe” chant and some scattered chants for MJF, who gets sent to the ropes by Briscoe for a spinebuster. Briscoe then stomps away at MJF in the corner, bringing him up to send him across the ring. MJF then backs off and hits Briscoe with a stuffed piledriver, but only gets a two count. MJF then rips off a bandage from Briscoe’s head, taking a bite to reopen the wound before the referee pulls him away. MJF then pokes fun at the crowd before digging into Briscoe’s forehead with his knuckle, sending Briscoe to the corner with such impact that Briscoe crashes down to the mat. MJF then continues the attack, but a back body drop leads to Briscoe landing on his feet and catching MJF by surprise with a flurry of offense.

Briscoe then sends MJF to the corner before hitting a belly to belly suplex and Briscoe charges at MJF with a running lariat. With MJF down, Briscoe heads to the top turnbuckle but it’s apparently a ruse as MJF hangs him up on the top rope. MJF then starts to mount a comeback until Briscoe sends him over the top rope and to the outside. Briscoe then grabs a chair, setting it up for a running dive over the top rope sending MJF crashing back to the floor. Briscoe then pulls a table out from under the ring, slamming MJF into the ring steps to keep him worn down before setting him up on the table. Briscoe then climbs the turnbuckle, but MJF pops up to intercept him before sending him crashing to the apron. MJF is so disinterested in dealing with the table that he folds it back up, sliding it back under the ring before getting back in the ring.

We then see Briscoe starting to recover as MJF poses, mocking the fans. MJF then spits in Briscoe’s face and delivers some right hands on him. Briscoe then clotheslines MJF out of the ring over the top rope and exposes the concrete, but MJF hits a back body drop to Briscoe on the concrete. Briscoe then responds with a Death Valley Driver to MJF back inside the ring and goes for a pin, but MJF kicks out and Briscoe flies off the barricade with a blockbuster to take out MJF on the floor.

Briscoe then lays MJF on the table and climbs to the top, then hits a Froggy bow on him and pins him back in the ring. MJF then gets his foot on the bottom rope to break the fall, then rakes Briscoe’s eye. Briscoe then hits MJF with an enzuigiri and climbs to the top rope, then hits another Froggy bow to MJF and follows it up with a J-Driller. Briscoe then goes for a pin, but MJF kicks out and hits an Alabama Slam to Briscoe. He then follows it up with a Heat Seeker for the win.

The winner and still the AEW World Champion, MJF!

After the match, MJF doesn’t take time to celebrate his win as he pulls out his Dynamite Diamond Ring to hit a hard punch on Briscoe. Officials then come rushing out to stop MJF from doing anything further, but he knocks them away before looking to do it again only for Kenny Omega to come rushing down for the save.

MJF then escapes the ring and up the ramp as Omega grabs a microphone, running MJF down for having to use tables, chairs and his ring to get what he wants, looking to challenge for the AEW World Title tonight. MJF then gets a microphone of his own, running down that he had to compete in a “dumpster fire like California” against Briscoe, telling Omega the answer is no but just as quickly, he gets a big idea. MJF then offers the match to Omega for next one, on one condition: if Omega loses, the same thing happens to Omega that happened to his buddy “Hangman” Adam Page and he can never challenge for the World Title ever again. MJF then gives Omega some time to think it over, following his remarks that if Omega refuses he still won’t get another title shot.

We then head to the back, where MJF talks about how easy it would be to beat Kenny Omega, reminding folks of all the people he’s beaten before including Omega himself, twice. He then mocks Ospreay in the process before claiming Kenny Omega won’t even agree to his terms because he is gutless. Ospreay then shows up to make fun of MJF before asking MJF why he’s adding such a stipulation. MJF then says it’s because he’s the champ and no matter what he looks to take down Ospreay at Wembley Stadium. He then walks off and Dynamite rolls on.

Back at ringside, Tony Schiavone welcomes Andrade El Idolo as we hear about his decision to split from the Don Callis Family at Forbidden Door. He then says he’s tired of being with the group and is looking for his shot at the World Title. So he has one question and that is how you know. We then get a curious answer to this as the Don Callis Family blindsides him. They then bring Andrade to the ring to continue the beatdown, with Brian Cage dropping him down hard. Drill Claw then sends El Idolo down the mat with authority and we see Don has a microphone. The crowd then boos as Callis tries to get his words out. He then mocks Andrade by asking him how he knows before telling his cronies to get him out of here as Kevin Knight has a match to win. That match, which sees Knight defending against ROH World Television Champion “Blackheart” Lio Rush, is coming up next.

Mercedes Moné then cuts a promo and addresses winning the Owen Hart Tournament a second time. Moné then says dreams don’t win championships, but she does. Moné then says the AEW Women’s World Title is the only thing missing from her collection and she looks to correct that at All In.

Lio Rush then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night with a backpack, possibly a gift from The Conglomeration from Forbidden Door.

AEW TNT Championship Match: Don Callis Family’s “The Jet” Kevin Knight (c) vs. ROH World TV Champion “Blackheart” Lio Rush

The match starts off with Knight terrified about what’s in the bag after one blew up on him on Sunday, but as he opens it he unveils Rush’s ROH World TV Title, which he had painted black. This distraction then allows Rush to get a few shots in on Knight before Jake Doyle helps him out for a breather. Knight then talks to Callis for some advice before Rush comes rushing through the ropes for a dive that sends Knight to the floor. Callis then goes to check on Knight, but he is scared off by Rush.

Knight then hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker to Rush. Knight then goes for a pin, but Rush kicks out and cinches in a submission hold on Knight. Doyle then pulls Knight out of the ring to break the hold, but Rush looks to fly off the top rope to take out Doyle. Doyle then catches Rush, but Rush sends Doyle crashing into the ring post. Knight then nails Rush and sends him back in the ring. Knight then hits him with a clothesline off the top rope and follows it up with a uranage for the win.

The winner and still the AEW TNT Champion, Don Callis Family’s “The Jet” Kevin Knight!

After the match, Callis and Doyle join Knight in the ring looking to continue beating down Rush. Darby Allin’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring to tell Knight that he thinks he has his attention. Allin then says he wants a TNT Championship match, but if Knight says no, what happened at Forbidden Door will keep happening. Allin then says Knight started things, but asks him how he’ll finish it.

Knight then says he’s tired of Allin and looks to grant him a TNT Championship match, but Callis snatches the microphone from Knight and says Allin has crossed the line into being a criminal. He then says The Don Callis Family doesn’t reward criminal behavior and says Allin will never get a TNT Championship as long as he has anything to do with it, but Allin says Knight has dug his grave as we see “Speedball” Mike Bailey watching fro the crowd.

We then head to the back, where Tommaso Ciampa demands that Renee Paquette say he’s better than Jericho after Jericho made Tony Schiavone say it on AEW Collision. Jericho then appears out of nowhere to hit Ciampa with a garbage can and the two continue brawling outside the arena. Security then tries breaking things up, but Ciampa looks to hit Jericho with a shopping cart and takes out one of the security guards. He then looks to take out Jericho’s eye, but security holds back Ciampa. Jericho then flies out of a production truck with a crossbody to level Ciampa, but security finally gets the two men pried apart.

Commentary then hypes up their match next week at Beach Break as well as Survival of the Fittest later tonight for the TBS Championship. We will also hear from Jay White later tonight, but up next is Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay facing The Swirl.

We then head to the back, where Renee Paquette tries to get a word from Kenny Omega about MJF’s stipulation. The Young Bucks then address two other Elite brethren (alluding not only to Hangman but Cody Rhodes) falling to that stipulation before Kenny admits he still hasn’t made a decision yet. The trio were then discussing the situation and Omega says if he goes through with this, he’s gotta go it alone. He then says he has some thinking to do as Dynamite rolls on.

We then head to ringside, where The Swirl have already made their way down to the ring for the next match of the night. Will Ospreay then makes his way down to the ring to a big pop from the crowd while we take a look back at Ospreay winning the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament at Forbidden Door. Jon Moxley then makes his way down to the ring as we look back to him retaining the Continental Championship. With all four men ready to go, we get this match underway with The Swirl sneak attacking their opponents.

Tag Team Match: The Death Riders’ AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley and “The Aerial Assassin” Will Ospreay vs. The Swirl (“Vanilla Baby” Blake Christian and “Big Shotty” Lee Johnson)

The match starts off with Moxley looking like he’s still worn down from Sunday as Christian and Johnson beat him down in the corner. They then continue this as the referee tries to regain order in the chaos. Moxley then fights back, sending Johnson into Christian but they turn it around to take Moxley down hard. Moxley then gets a tag to Ospreay as Christian is officially starting this off for his team before Johnson gets sent to the floor as does Christian, when Ospreay leaps over the top rope onto both of The Swirl. Ospreay then brings Christian back into the ring, wearing him down with a body slam and he gets a tag to Moxley.

The Swirl are still in control of the situation until Moxley hits them with a double clothesline. Christian then rolls to the apron as Moxley continues the attack on Johnson, only for Johnson to fight back for a tag to Christian. They then double team Moxley to send him to the ropes, where Jay Lethal sneakily pulls Moxley to the mat from outside.

The referee is stunned by what happened, but Marina Shafir gets some revenges with an exploder suplex sending Lethal to the floor. Moxley then manages to fight back for a tag to Ospreay as Johnson tags in, only to be slammed by Ospreay to the mat. He then sends Johnson to the corner as Moxley comes in for an assist. Christian then tries to catch Moxley from a springboard, but Ospreay intercepts for a cutter. Moxley then hits a Paradigm Shift on Johnson and it is followed quickly by a Hidden Blade from Ospreay for the win.

The winners of the Tag Team Match, The Death Riders’ AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley and “The Aerial Assassin” Will Ospreay!

After the match, Ospreay celebrates in the ring as Moxley and Sharif exit through the crowd.

We then go to an interview with Cage & Cope after Forbidden Door, where Christian addresses the pair winning to retain their titles over The Dogs. He says he wants to know what Jay White was doing out there and Cope says The Switchblade owed him a favor and now they’re even. Cage then recounts his issues with Jay White before walking off and Dynamite rolls on.

Back at ringside, Jay White makes his way down to the ring with The Bang Bang Gang. White gets a microphone to address that it’s been 459 days since he’s had a chance to talk to the peoples, saying hello to his San Diego “Goldmembers.” White then addresses the fact the crowd aren’t as worried about The Death Riders as they were when he was here last and he won’t spend much time tonight addressing the biggest fraud of them all, referring to Will Ospreay.

White then turns his attention to The Dogs, making a “Who Let The Dogs Out” joke before addressing his history over David Finlay in particular. He then talks about how good Finlay is as someone born into this business. White then says but all of that doesn’t change the fact that Finlay is a “nepo baby b—h boy.” This then gets a “nepo baby” chant, but White tells them to wait until he’s out here for that. He then talks about Finlay’s arrogance stinking up the place, with White offering to give us some fresh air. He then tells Finlay that Sunday was just the beginning as this is the Switchblade Era and if you’re not down with that we’ve got two words for you Guns Up.

We then head to the back, where STP calls out The Bang Bang Gang for an 8-Man Tag on Collision before Dynamite rolls on once more.

Kris Statlander then makes her way down to the ring for the main event of the night and Maika, Harley Cameron, Persephone, Queen Aminata and Hikaru Shida follow.

AEW TBS Championship Survival Of The Fittest Match: STARDOM’s Maika vs. CMLL World Women’s Champion Persephone vs. Harley Cameron vs. Hikaru Shida vs. Kris Statlander vs. Queen Aminata

The match starts off with the ring clearing out very quickly aside from Maika and Persephone before a Shining Wizard from Harley Cameron sends Maika to the outside. Persephone and Cameron then work to take on Shida and Aminata respectively, with Cameron beating up Aminata in the corner before Persephone pulls her away with a crucifix bomb to score the first elimination and Harley Cameron has been eliminated. Statlander then returns to the ring, not happy to see her friend beaten down like that as she squares off with Persephone.

Maika and Statlander then work together to take Persephone down before trading strikes on each other. Statlander is then sent to the ropes, where she takes a kendo stick to the back by Shida. She then slides into the ring to go after Maika, but is taken to the mat by Maika. She then goes for a body slam, but Shida counters to go for an ankle lock. Maika then gets to the ropes to force a break as Statlander gets back to her feet, only to be dragged out of the ring by Persephone. Back in the ring, Shida uses the referee as a human shield before rolling Maika up and Maika has been eliminated.

Aminata then returns to the ring, going after Shida with a flurry of offense before taking her to the mat for a near fall. Shida then starts to fight back, but Aminata takes her out with Off With Her Head only to be caught by Persephone for a quick pin and Aminata has been eliminated. We are done to three women in this match as Shida stares Persephone down from behind. Statlander then sits out Persephone. Persephone then hits a Northern Lights suplex to Statlander and pins her, but Statlander kicks out and both women nail one another. Shida then looks to take advantage by pinning Persephone, but Persephone kicks out. Shida then pins Statlander, but Statlander kicks out as well and takes out Shida and Persephone with a double back elbow off the middle rope.

She then hits a Michinoku Driver on Persephone and goes for a pin, but Persephone kicks out. Persephone then rolls up Statlander, but Statlander reverses the fall to eliminated Persephone. Shida then hits a Falcon Arrow to Statlander and goes for a pin, but Statlander kicks out and Shida grabs the TBS Championship belt from the outside. She then looks to hit Statlander with it, but Statlander kicks the TBS Championship out of Shida’s hand. Shida and Statlander then take turns rolling one another up before Shida cinches in an Ankle Lock on Statlander. Persephone then hits Statlander with the TBS Championship belt from the outside and the referee calls for the bell after Shida locks in a submission and Statlander is knocked out as Statlander has been eliminated.

The winner of the Survival of the Fittest Match and new AEW TBS Champion, Hikaru Shida!

After the match, Shida celebrates her win as Persephone can be heard telling the new champ she owes her.

We then head to the back, where Kenny Omega is still having a very hard think about his decision, which we will hear about next. Will Ospreay then confronts Kenny Omega backstage and tells him that he isn’t sure he’s making the right decision. Ospreay then says he believes in him, but he thinks Omega doesn’t believe in himself. Omega then says this might be his last shot and his death ground, so he wants to go out all guns blazing.

Omega then makes his way down to the ring and he appears to be sombre. Omega says he’s been a wrestler for almost 30 years and there’s been no greater passion or pleasure than giving everything he has to the fans. Omega then says whether he was 14 or 42, the fans still get the same 100% version of him every single time. Omega then says he’s won titles, broken records that may never be broken again and has a career he can hang his hat on while still being proud. Omega then says there’s a selfish part of him that knows his career thus far isn’t enough and there’s part of him that still feels like there’s a little left in the tank. Omega then rallies up the fans by pondering whether or not himself, Ospreay, The Young Bucks and the fans can believe just one more time that he can be a champion walking into All In.

Omega then says if he fails, he’ll become just like Cody Rhodes and “Hangman” Adam Page. Omega then says if MJF wants him to put it all on the line, there’s one possibility MJF hasn’t considered: he’s still the same person people call “The Best Bout Machine”, “The Cleaner” and “The God of Professional Wrestling”. Omega then accepts MJF’s condition for an AEW World Championship match next Wednesday at the Dynamite Beach Break special, then bids the fans adieu and tells them goodnight.

MJF then blindsides Omega from behind and slides on his Dynamite Diamond Ring, but Omega tackles MJF and delivers right hands on him. Security and referees then run out to the ring to get Omega and MJF separated, but Omega breaks free and goes after MJF. Security then pries Omega off MJF, but MJF breaks free and goes after Omega. MJF then retreats up the entrance ramp and holds his AEW World Championship belt up, but security holds back MJF as Omega stands in the ring and the show comes to a close.
