    AEW Collision Results

The Elite vs. The Lethal Twist

    • The Young Bucks and Perry come out on top here. The match ends after the Bucks hit a Meltzer Driver on Lee Johnson. This came after a ton of chaotic moves, including Jack Perry landing a huge moonsault outside of the ring on Jay Lethal and Blake Christian, pretty much ending any chance the group had on grabbing the win.

    Winners – The Elite

    Grade – B

This is a pretty good start to the night. The Elite are a fun enough group and it was good to see them get going early.

Mina Shirakawa is being interviewed alongside Kris Statlander about their upcoming match. Mina says she respects Kris, but told her not to trust Hikaru Shida. They talked trash for a little bit, then it was time for the match.

Survival of the Fittest qualifier: Kris Statlander vs. Mina Shirakawa

    • Statlander takes the win here, and in surprisingly quick fashion. The two were clearly familiar with each other, but Statlander won after Mina went for the armbar, which Statlander countered into a roll up pin.

    Winner – Kris Statlander

    Grade – B

Another solid match. The two stars knowing each other so well worked out into a really good match that was filled with mostly technical wrestling, which is always fun.

The Hurt Syndicate vs. Warren Johnson & Zack Mason

    • The Hurt Syndicate make super short work of their opponents here. Bobby Lashley hits a ton of huge moves, Benjamin gets the pin, and that’s that for them. After the match, MVP takes to the mic and says the group isn’t here to win championships, but just simply wanting to hurt people for money. Whoever is up next, they’ll be there if the money is right.

    Winners – The Hurt Syndicate

    Grade – C+

A squash match is a squash match, even if it features Bobby Lashley doing awesome stuff.

In the ring, it’s time for Jericho and Ciampa to meet. The two go back and forth for a bit, before Ciampa asks for a match at Beach Break, to which Jericho accepts. Jericho says that the PPV will be for wrestling, but tonight he wants to fight. He then ambushed Ciampa, who would eventually get the upper hand and send Jericho outside of the ring and into the steel steps. The segment ended with Ciampa hitting a running knee strike on Jericho.

Backstage, PAC calls out Shota Umino for the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship at Forbidden Door.

    Místico vs. Dante Martin

    • Martin started the match by going after Mistico’s injured knee, but the star pushed through the match. In the end, Místico came out on top, winning the match after hitting a Spanish Fly for the win. After the match, Christopher Daniels checked on Martin.

    Winner – Místico

    Grade – B-

It wasn’t too bad, but with these two superstars, it would’ve been fun to see a much more eventful match.

    PAC vs. Jay Alexander

    • PAC wins this one literally right away. He hits a massive clothesline and then locks in a vicious submission for the win.

    Winner – PAC

    Grade – C

I mean…this was a true squash match. It was cool to see PAC in action, but almost nothing happened.

Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Adam Priest

    • Sabre comes out on top here in a great match. Sabre won after targeting Priest’s left arm for most of the bout. Toward the end of the match, Sabre escaped a big submission from Priest, then locked Priest in his own submnission that targeted both of his arms and forced Adam to tap out.

    Winner – Zack Sabre Jr.

    Grade – B

A rather “boring” match if you’re not into the technical aspects of wrestling, but between the submissions and some of the bigger moves here, this was awesome.

Owen Hart Cup Foundation Women’s Tournament Semifinal: Athena vs. Maya World

    • In what is definitely the best match of the night, Maya World comes out on top to advance in the tournament. The match came to an end after a chaotic finish. Athena hit her finisher, but World kicked out of it. World then tried to roll her up, but Athena got out of it. Athena then hit a pair of big kicks to World for the win. She told her that she’s sorry but it’s her time now, then ran forward for one final kick. This is when World ducked and rolled up Athena for the shocking win.

    Winner – Maya World

After the win, a stunned Athena could only hug World to congratulate her. Out comes Mercedes Moné, who World will face in the finals. Athena was watching the pair from the ropes, and then shocked everyone by ambushing World. Moné came down to join in, and the pair ended the show by attacking World.

    Grade – B+

A stellar close to the show. the match was great and the finish was also awesome, especially with Moné coming out and joining in on the fun. The finals should be a fun match!

    AEW Collision Review

    Grade – B-

All things considered…this felt like a relatively small stakes episode of AEW Collision. It had some fun moments, but didn’t live up to the hype of some of the other episodes these past few weeks.
