Boom! James Laurinaitis has done it again. The Ohio State linebackers coach has landed another commitment from a top prospect. Missouri native Prince Goldsby has given his verbal pledge to wear Scarlet and Gray.

A four-star prospect, Goldsby was crystal-balled to the Buckeyes just a few days ago, and the prediction came true shortly after. OSU was a little late to the game with the Missouri linebacker, not offering a scholarship until late February. He didn’t even make his first visit to Columbus until the Spring Game on April 18. But Laurinaitis worked some magic and developed a strong relationship with the young man in a short period of time.

It seems the Buckeyes are getting a good one. According to 247Sports composite rankings, Goldsby is the No. 7 linebacker in the nation and the No. 1 player in the Show Me State. He had a breakout Junior season at Blue Springs South High School last fall. In just 10 games, he racked up 83 tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

Ohio State beat out Alabama, Missouri, and Nebraska, among others, to land the commitment.

Goldsby becomes the 13th player to commit to OSU’s 2027 class. He is the second linebacker Laurinaitis has snagged, joining Quinton Cypher from North Carolina.
