Lamine Yamal has dethroned Harry Kane as the favourite to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or, with the Barcelona wonderkid now priced at 8/15 and Kane out to 5/4.
William Hill have reported a big move in their Ballon d’Or market, with Lamine Yamal the new outright favourite to win the award on October 26th.
The winger was 6/5 earlier this week but has leapfrogged Harry Kane in the betting within the past 24 hours and now sits as the firm 8/15 favourite. Kane has meanwhile drifted from 11/10 to 5/4.
It appears to be a two-horse race between the pair, with Kylian Mbappe (12/1) and Lionel Messi (14/1) much bigger prices in third and fourth, respectively.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “There’s been a dramatic twist in our Ballon d’Or market this week and we now make Lamine Yamal our big favourite to win this month’s award in London.
“Yamal was practically neck and neck with Harry Kane in the betting but has made a big move in the past 48 hours and now trades at 8/15.
“Kane’s price has drifted slightly to 5/4 as we approach the final three weeks until the winner is announced, with the pair well clear of Kylian Mbappe (12/1) and Lionel Messi (14/1) in the market.”
