The end of the transfer window is upon us, and Chelsea still have a lot of work to do.
The Blues had a bunch of players to sell already – they created another one when they bought Emi Martinez from Aston Villa late last week.
That bumped Robert Sanchez down the pecking order, and it’s pretty clear now that the club would like to sell him. That would leave Martinez as number one and young Mike Penders to continue as his backup. The problem is finding a team to buy Sanchez at this late hour – but a miracle may be on the cards.

Fabrizio Romano has just put out the exclusive information that Serie A rising force Como, managed by Cesc Fabregas, are interested in Spaniard Sanchez. They first want to find a new striker, then will get serious about their goalkeeper options.
There could yet be other options too – Romano says that “several clubs” are exploring what Chelsea would demand for a move. It’s all very promising from a Chelsea point of view, but with less than 36 hours left in the window, time is running low to make it happen.
