R. Sai Kishore has joined English County Championship side Gloucestershire for the remaining six matches of the Division Two season.
The deal means that the left-arm spinner will miss the remainder of the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League 2026 season, where he was captaining iDream Tirppur Tamizhans. He had taken six wickets at an economy of 7.21, and scored 49 runs in five innings.
This is his second stint in county cricket, having played two games for Surrey last season.
He has a prolific red-ball record for Tamil Nadu, having taken 223 wickets, including 14 five-wicket hauls, in 54 first-class matches.
“The conditions at this time of year are often very conducive to spin bowling, so we’re hopeful Sai can make a significant contribution and have a really positive impact on the team,” said Gloucesteshire head coach Jon Lewis on his signing.
Gloucestershire has had a tough season thus far, and sits bottom of Division Two with just one win from eight matches. Its next match against Worcestershire begins on August 20.
