    William Hill News tipster @Footy_Tipster turns his attention to the bottom half of the table, analysing the clubs most at risk in the 2026/27 Premier League relegation battle.

    Our Prediction – Hull City (1/5), Coventry City (4/6), Ipswich Town (4/6)

    It’s always tempting to say all three newly‑promoted sides will head straight back to the Championship — and while football often surprises us, it’s difficult to argue against that possibility this season.

    Hull City return to the Premier League for the first time since 2016/17 after edging Middlesbrough in the play‑off final, but despite spending reasonably well this summer, they still look underprepared for the demands of top‑flight football. The Tigers may show flashes of competitiveness, yet a long, difficult campaign feels likely.

    Coventry City arrive as Championship winners, and Frank Lampard has strengthened sensibly, giving the Sky Blues the best chance of survival among the promoted trio. Even so, they’ll need to exceed expectations to stay up — and a brutal start featuring Arsenal and Manchester City in their opening three fixtures won’t make life any easier.

    Ipswich Town’s situation is arguably the most concerning. Alarm bells rang when Kieran McKenna departed shortly after guiding them back to the Premier League at the first attempt. Gary O’Neil has stepped in and overseen a busy summer of recruitment, but the squad still appears short on proven Premier League quality. Unless several signings hit the ground running, Ipswich could find themselves in trouble early.

    The Clubs Battling to Survive

    William Hill have Sunderland priced at 5/2 as the fourth favourites for relegation, and while it’s easy to dismiss that after their remarkable campaign last season, the concerns are understandable. The Black Cats not only survived their first year back in the Premier League following promotion from the Championship — they defied expectations and secured European football. However, the added workload of midweek fixtures has historically taken its toll on some Premier League sides, and many believe Sunderland could be dragged into a relegation battle if their squad depth is exposed.

    Fulham (5/1), Leeds United (11/2) and Crystal Palace (11/2) follow in the betting, but all three clubs have built up genuine Premier League experience — including previous relegation fights — and that know‑how could prove invaluable. They’ve learned how to navigate difficult spells, manage pressure and grind out results when it matters most. For that reason, it feels as though their experience alone may be enough to keep them clear of the bottom three.

    How to take part

    Here’s how to get involved in the Acca boost offer:

    1. Place a Qualifying Acca (football accas of 4+ selections (min odds 1/5) from Qualifying Markets) in any William Hill shop via the Sports Betting Terminals or over the counter on the Smart Hub SSBT or online via the William Hill Website or App(s);
    2. If the bet wins, an Acca Boost will be added to your bet returns.
    3. The % of your win back as an Acca Boost will be determined by the number of selections in your Qualifying Acca (see full terms for breakdown of Acca Boost available).

    Significant Conditions

    1. The promotion runs from 08:00 (UK time) on Thursday 7th August 2025 until otherwise cancelled by us in accordance with these Terms (the “Promotion Period”).
    2. This Acca Boost promotion is available to both online customers in the United Kingdom and Ireland using the William Hill website (williamhill.com – the “Website”) or William Hill iOS or Android Mobile app (together, the “Apps”) and UK retail customers in William Hill shops.
    3. To qualify, place a Qualifying Acca on a Sports Betting Terminal or over the counter on Smart Hub SSBT in William Hill shops, or online via the Website or the App, during the Promotion Period.
    4. A “Qualifying Acca” is:
      1. A cash stake of any value (no minimum stake);
      2. On any football acca made of 4 or more selections;
      3. Each with odds of 1/5 (1.2) or bigger;
      4. On the Promotion Markets.
    5. The “Promotion Markets” are:
      1. 90 Minutes;
      2. 90 Minutes 2 Up;
      3. Both Teams To Score;
      4. Match Under/Over Goals.

    7. Qualifying Acca wins (less the value of the original stake) will receive an “Acca Boost”, whereby winnings will be boosted by a variable percentage, dependent on the number of selections in the Qualifying Acca:
      1. 4 selections – 5% Acca Boost
      2. 5 selections – 7.5% Acca Boost
      3. 6 selections – 10% Acca Boost

      10. 13 selections – 45% Acca Boost
      11. 14 selections – 50% Acca Boost
      12. 15 selections or above – 100% Acca Boost
    8. The increasing percentage of rewards in the Acca Boost reflects the relative risk of placing Qualifying Accas with a higher number of selections.
    9. The following maximum Acca Boost amounts will be applied per Qualifying Acca:
      1. For retail customers: £2,000
      2. For online customers: £10,000.
    10. There is no daily limit of Qualifying Accas.
    11. In the case of void selections within a Qualifying Acca, the Acca Boost will still apply but the percentage applied will be calculated according to the final number of winning selections.
    12. In the case of an Acca dropping to three selections or less, the acca will lose its Qualifying Acca status and Acca Boost will not apply.
    13. Any Acca Boost on winnings will be applied as part of the standard bet settlement process.
    14. Bets you place using free bets cannot be combined with the Acca Boost
