Pedro Neto has been linked with a potential move to Manchester City, with Tottenham also mentioned as a destination.

Pedro Neto has just arrived in Hong Kong to begin his preseason schedule with Chelsea. But while he was in the air somewhere over Central Asia, a big story about his future dropped.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano dropped the story that Man City have made “direct contact” with Chelsea over potentially signing the winger. Neto has been a first team regular since signing for Chelsea, and was a particular favourite of Enzo Maresca, now Man City boss, in his time on the Stamford Bridge bench.

The move would only be likely to take place if Man City were to sell Savinho to Tottenham. That transfer looks very possible – but it’s not advancing too quickly at this stage.

As Romano says, the deal depends on Chelsea’s valuation. If they’re holding out for £75m for Malo Gusto, we can only imagine how much they’d want for Neto.

Right now, this is just a possibility, but the fact that insiders like Romano are putting their weight behind it shows that at least one of the parties involved is keen to see it happen.

    In other news…

Malo Gusto is interesting PSG as a potential backup to Achraf Hakimi – but there are some major stumbling blocks before a deal is done.

The deal to sign Pep Chavarria is inching closer – according to Fabrizio Romano, the fixed fee the Blues will pay for the defender is now agreed.
