Graeme Souness, Charlie Nicholas, and Gordon Strachan root for Norway in a gone viral Paddy Power video ahead of the England World Cup game.

Paddy Power captioned their post: “Ahead of England’s next World Cup match, a certain cohort of Scottish people are suddenly feeling very Norwegian…”

Graeme Souness began saying in the video: It’s been a long journey for us Norwegian fans. We haven’t been to the Cup since 1998 and honestly, I wondered if we’d ever get back again.

“But we’re here. We’re in the quarter-finals and I’ve never been more proud of my country.”

    Gordon Strachan: Ro! Ro! Ro!

When asked if he is ok, Gordon replied: Just f***ing Ro, would you?

Charlie Nicholas: People think we only have Erling Haaland, but they’re so wrong.

When asked who else have you got, Charlie replied: “Don’t know.”

Asked about being Mexican the other day, he added: “Not me, pal. But did you know that the modern day cheese slicer was invented by a Norwegian? And his name is Thor.”

Graeme Souness: “It’s called Rakfisk. It’s a trout that’s salted and fermented for up to a year, then eaten raw.”

Graeme Souness was told it was “It’s very pungent”, he replied: “Most people outside Norway wouldn’t be able to stomach it, but we’re built differently here.”

Asked if it’s good, he replied: “Yeah, it’s good. Mm-hmm.”

Charlie Nicholas: “People have been sleeping on Norway for too long. Not anymore. The Vikings are on the march. And what’s this team called that we’re playing next?”

    He’s told it’s England.

Then we see Gordon Strachan rowing, he says: “We’re not here just to make up the numbers. Don’t know who we’re playing next.”

When told it’s England, he said: “But then for the hell of a battle, much like the Battle of Hafrsfjord, which was fought between 872 and 900 and resulted in the unification of Norway.”

When asked when will this end, Gordon, he replied: Ro!

The other week, Graeme Souness, Charlie Nicholas, and Gordon Strachan rooted for Mexico…

Paddy Power captioned their post: “There’s a growing Mexican community in Scotland. Ahead of the game against England, we paid some of them a visit…”

Graeme Souness: We Mexico fans are laid back, but we still have a ferocious will to win. Something our next opponents are going to experience firsthand, whoever that may be.”

Charlie Nicholas: Being a Los Azteca is all about passion. It may not always win, but we will fight to the end. The atmosphere, the intensity, the altitude, I’m telling you, we are a match for anyone on our own patch. I bloody love tacos.”

Gordon Strachan: “I was in my first mariachi band when I was probably 69 years old. Feels like yesterday. Oh flower of Mexico, when will we see”

Graeme Souness: “Yeah, it’s a caffeine-rich infused herbal drink made with yerba mate plant. I like to take one after I’ve been on the old piñata.”

When asked ‘isn’t yerba mate from South America’, Souness replies: “Don’t disrespect me, Gringo.”

Charlie is told “Some people might say you’re just pretending to be Mexico fans as you’re so desperate for them to beat the English.”

Charlie replies: “That’s ridiculous. Ridiculoso. If you cut me open, I will bleed green, white and orange. Red? Whatever. This needs some more iron broomy things.”

Gordon: “When you come to Azteca, you’re not just taking on 11 players. You’re facing a population of 134 million people and a country that covers 61,610 square miles.”

Asked ‘Been on Wikipedia, have we?’ Gordon replies: “The capital is Mexico City.”

Graeme: “Look, I don’t know who you’re playing the next game.”

When told it is England, he replies: “Never heard of them. But they’re in for a hell of a game. They’ll face the full might of El Tr. Vamos, Mexico.”

    Gordon: “Vamos! Mexico!”

    Charlie: “Famous Mex-hi-co! Salud!”

There’s a growing Mexican community in Scotland.
