Chelsea have completed a deal for Marco Palestra, and it’s now just a question of waiting for them to announce it.

Fabrizio Romano was ahead of the curve on the Marco Palestra to Chelsea story, and he’s now dropped the news that finishes it all off.

The transfer insider has just Tweeted that “Chelsea and Atalanta have signed all documents” for the deal, meaning it’s done.

It’s just a question of when the club want to announce their first major transfer of the summer. We expect them to drop a big Xabi Alonso media bomb in the next few days, and the Palestra announcement will probably follow that.

Now that this deal is done, we could see another come along in quick succession. On the other side of the pitch, the Blues are already putting bids in for La Liga left back Pep Chavarria.

Then there are the sales – there are a load which need to be done, but none seem particularly close at this moment. That part of our summer really needs to get going soon if we want to make it an overall success.

    In other news…

Pep Chavarria has come from nowhere to be Chelsea’s first option as a left back signing this summer – and according to Marca, the first bid for the Rayo player is already in.

Chelsea are open to selling Malo Gusto this summer, and Man City are interested – but no deal will be done while the Blues have such a hefty asking price.
