    All eyes on Brook as England announces playing XI for 1st T20I against India

    England has announced its team for the first of five T20Is against India to be played on Wednesday. Harry Brook leads the side against an Indian outfit that is coming into the series fresh from a 0-2 drubbing in the format at the hands of Ireland.

    England will face India in five T20Is and three ODIs between July 1-19., its first assignment in the format after the loss to India in the semifinal of the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup, where the side lost by seven runs.

    England team for 1st T20I: Phil Salt, Jos Buttler, Harry Brook (captain), Jacob Bethell, Tom Banton, Sam Curran, Will Jacks, Liam Dawson, Saqib Mahmood, Adil Rashid, Luke Wood

    SCHEDULE:

    Wednesday, July 1- 1st T20I: Chester-le-Street

    Saturday, July 4 – 2nd T20I: Old Trafford, Manchestert

    Tuesday, July 7 – 3rd T20I: Trent Bridge, Nottingham

    Thursday, July 9: 4th T20I: Bristol

    Saturday, July 11: 5th T20I: Southampton
