There have been a few names thrown around as Chelsea look for a Marc Cucurella replacement at left back, and today has produced a new one.
Marca’s Matteo Moretto is claiming that the Blues are looking at Pep Chavarria, the Rayo Vallecano left back, as a potential bargain option this summer.
Chavarria has had a really interesting career – never playing in a major academy, and working his way up from the Spanish third tier all the way to La Liga.

This one has come so out of nowhere that it sounds unbelievable – but often it’s the strangest moves that actually end up being true.
Once again, the age is a sticking point. Chavarria is 28. But perhaps the club really have changed their youth focused transfer policy? Or perhaps this is a special request from Xabi Alonso?
Either way, it’s always interesting to have a new name on the list, and we’re curious to see where it all goes from here.
