Shotzi wants to prove she can represent a major pro wrestling company as the face of the promotion.
Shotzi Blackheart recently spoke with WrestleZone’s Ella Jay about joining the MLW roster. The Ballsy Badass was asked whether she has noticed any differences between WWE’s way of filming TV and how MLW handles tapings. Instead, Shotzi said the experiences are fairly similar, highlighting how both shows really understood the direction she wanted to take her character.
“I’ll be honest with you, doing MLW tapings is very similar to going to TV for WWE. Obviously, MLW is not live, but we do treat it that way. Even with the call time, the writers, and pitching storylines and everything,” Shotzi explained. “It really reminds me of when I first got to NXT, where they just really understood my character, the creative juices are just flowing, and just everything is clicking.
“I love being at MLW for that because out of everywhere that I’ve worked, they understand my character so much. Every time they pitch ideas for me, I’m like, ‘Gosh, I couldn’t have pitched a creative scenario better. You guys just totally get it.’ I am just loving my time at MLW,” she added. “I’m just excited for everyone to finally see what I have been working with these past few months.”
Shotzi is out to prove she has what it takes
MLW Fusion returned to the air in May, and Shotzi is the company’s reigning Women’s Champion. She says her goals haven’t wavered much since she got there; she wants to continue having fun and show that she can be the face of a promotion’s women’s division.
“With MLW, I want to prove that I can lead a television company. I could be the face of a company,” Shotzi said. “I still want to do a proper Japan tour. So I’m hoping that this relationship would start and brings me there and I get to represent MLW there. I’ve just been smashing goals. The cover of PWI was one of them, and I got that this year. I think that’s like really awesome. So now it’s just having a good time. I just want to continue just having so much fun.”
