Fans wondering where EC3 has been since his shocking return to TNA finally have an answer, but they might have to wait a while longer until he’s finally back.
After making his comeback at TNA Rebellion and immediately reigniting his rivalry with Eric Young, EC3 has been noticeably absent from TNA programming. Now, a new report has explained both his absence and when fans can expect to see him back.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider addressed questions about EC3’s status after multiple readers reached out looking for an update. According to Johnson, he contacted EC3 directly and received a characteristically colorful response.
“Michael, I was piledriven through both a table and spiked on an open chair. That was after Eric Young stomped on my d**k 17 times. Those are wounds that require some time and solitude to regroup and strategize.”
While EC3 was clearly having some fun with the explanation, the report also included a more concrete update regarding his future. According to PWInsider, the expectation is that EC3 will return once TNA has wrapped up its current Slammiversary-related storylines: “The belief is he will be back after the Slammiversary storylines play out.”
That means fans may have to wait a little longer before seeing EC3 back in a TNA ring. With Slammiversary scheduled for June 28, the former TNA World Champion is not expected to return until sometime after the company’s biggest event of the summer.
This comes just weeks after EC3’s feud with Eric Young appeared to reach a brutal conclusion. Their rivalry culminated in a No Disqualification Match on the May 8 edition of TNA iMPACT, where Young picked up the victory after delivering two devastating piledrivers to EC3. That match ended up being EC3’s last appearance before he disappeared from television.
So, given EC3’s history in TNA and the reaction he received when he returned at Rebellion, his eventual comeback could quickly put him back into the mix once Slammiversary is in the rearview mirror.
