Eddie Hearn has revealed a domestic heavyweight clash that has been discussed for the next Matchroom Boxing vs Queensberry Promotions event, which he suspects will be “even bigger” than the first show.

It was in June 2024 when the inaugural 5v5 card took place, resulting in Queensberry boss Frank Warren winning by a landslide of 10-0.

The points system involved bonuses for stoppage victories and the respective captains of each promotional team, who happened to be Hamzah Sheeraz and Deontay Wilder.

Queensberry’s triumph was therefore enhanced by Sheeraz claiming an 11th-round finish over Austin Williams, while Wilder’s fifth-round stoppage defeat to Zhilei Zhang only added to Matchroom’s woes.

A rematch between the two promotional outfits is being targeted for later this year, however, giving Hearn the opportunity to exact his revenge in a potential 7v7 showdown.

The Matchroom boss has already discussed the possibility of a rematch between Callum Smith and Joshua Buatsi, who squared off in an enthralling light-heavyweight dustup in February 2025.

In terms of heavyweight action, though, Hearn has told IFL TV that Johnny Fisher and Dillian Whyte could collide in an unexpected crossroads clash.

“Johnny Fisher against Dillian Whyte. These discussions started [nearly two weeks ago]. This [Matchroom vs Queensberry card] will be even bigger than the first one. This will have a much more domestic slant on it as well.”

Fisher has had just one outing, a fourth-round finish over the little-known Ivan Balaz, since his fifth-round stoppage defeat to Dave Allen in May 2025.

Whyte, meanwhile, has not fought since his first-round defeat to Moses Itauma last August, when the 38-year-old looked his age as he failed to contain the explosive movement of his younger opponent.
