AEW’s wrestling family came together this week to support Rebel as she continues her battle with ALS, with one current AEW star and a newly signed company figure spending time with her during an emotional visit.
While Rebel’s diagnosis has already prompted an outpouring of support across the wrestling world, the latest show of solidarity highlighted just how strong those bonds remain behind the scenes.
The visit also coincided with AEW’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness and funds for ALS-related organizations.
Britt Baker and Mick Foley show support for Rebel during ALS fight
On Friday, Mick Foley shared a photo on social media (Instagram) from a visit with Rebel and former on-screen ally Britt Baker.
The trio was all wearing AEW’s recently released “Rebel Heart” bracelets, with proceeds benefiting ALS support organizations.
Foley appeared to be in high spirits during the gathering, writing, “REBEL HEART! Having the BEST day, visiting with @rebeltanea & @realbrittbaker – who are FORCING me to watch [Love Island]….which I’m kind of addicted to now!”
The visit comes shortly after Rebel announced that she had become an ambassador for I AM ALS, a patient-led organization dedicated to accelerating research, expanding access to treatment, and advancing policy changes related to the disease. Rebel encouraged fans to join the cause, stating, “ALS may be a terminal diagnosis, but I’m showing up to fight as an Ambassador for I AM ALS.”
Last month, Rebel publicly revealed her ALS diagnosis after enduring a lengthy period of serious health issues. The condition, also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease. Since sharing the news, support has poured in from fans and fellow wrestlers alike.
AEW has also launched “Rebel Heart” merchandise, including bracelets and T-shirts, with profits benefiting I AM ALS and Team Gleason. In a fitting wrestling twist, the company’s support effort has become more than merchandise — it’s become a tag team dedicated to helping one of its own.
As Rebel continues her fight, the wrestling community’s support remains firmly in her corner, both inside and outside the ring.
