TKO Accused of Tying Triple H’s Hands With Money-Hungry Tactics

Chris Harris isn’t blaming Triple H for everything happening in WWE right now — he’s pointing the finger straight at TKO.

The former TNA star addressed WWE’s current direction while speaking on the Tagging in with Chris Harris podcast, and he made it clear he believes Triple H is working under serious corporate pressure. His comments come after reports noted TKO has been pushing for major contract restructures, with some WWE talent already accepting reduced deals.

While discussing whether Triple H is doing a good job as WWE’s creative leader, Harris said he likes having someone with an old-school wrestling mind in charge. Harris said Triple H appears open to collaboration and fresh creative ideas. However, he believes the bigger issue is that Triple H may not have the final say on everything anymore. Right after that, Harris turned his attention to TKO, saying the company’s business-first approach has changed what WWE can be, accusing it of being money-hungry.

“I’m glad we have an old-school guy in charge. I think he’s got some good ideas, at least from what they allow us to see—and I’ve seen a lot of that from that Unreal program.”

“It looks like he’s open to other ideas, and they try to come together on things creatively. So I’m glad we have that old-school mindset leading the way. However, I also feel like since TKO has taken over, there’s only so much that a guy in his position can do, because you’ve got higher-ups that it’s very clear are so money-hungry and are doing everything just to make a buck. And I get that—that’s part of business.”

Chris Harris believes a lot of WWE’s decisions might look different if Triple H had full control. In his view, TKO’s leadership has the final say, and that leaves Triple H in a difficult position since he really can’t go against them.

“But I also feel like there’s probably a lot that would have gone differently if it was all up to Triple H in the decision-making. But because TKO has the final say, I think they’ve stepped in a lot of situations, and it may not be what Triple H wants—but his hands are tied.”

He also said Triple H has no choice but to publicly support decisions, even if he may not personally agree with them. Harris stated that he believes Triple H is the right wrestling mind for the job, but TKO’s priorities are clearly more business-driven than wrestling-driven.

“If they tell him to do something, he’s got to do it—and not just do it, but do it with a smile. He can’t go out and say, ‘I didn’t agree with this.’ That’s not how it works. They want someone to be the face of the company and defend every decision. So personally, I feel like we have a good guy in charge—but I don’t think TKO cares as much about the wrestling side of things as they do about the business side. And that’s unfortunate—but that’s what they’re doing.”

Harris’ comments come at a time when WWE’s corporate direction is facing lots of backlash, especially with reports of reduced talent deals and TKO’s push to cut costs. While Triple H remains the public face of WWE creative, Harris believes the real power sits above him — and that could continue shaping WWE in ways fans and talent may not always like.

Do you agree with Chris Harris that TKO is holding Triple H back, or do you think WWE’s business-first approach is necessary? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comments below.
