Bourne were knocked off top spot in the Lincolnshire Premier League Premier Division after suffering an agonising defeat on Saturday.

They were beaten by just one run at Bracebridge Heath after coming so close to chasing down their target after their Lincoln hosts made 252-3.

Jordan Temple (64) and Dan Freeman (59) spearheaded the run chase with Yuvi Ranaut (27) adding some late impetus.

Ranaut was the final wicket to fall off the last ball of the innings after being run out trying to bring Bourne level.

The defeat dropped Bourne to third place with Sleaford surging into top spot after a 43-run victory at Spalding.

Ollie Dring and Mustafa Mughal both took 3-22 to help dismiss Sleaford for 170 but Spalding were skittled out for 127 in reply.

Barnaby Dring top-scored with 32 while last week’s ton-maker Divyeash Vaseeharan made 26 for Spalding who are now eighth in the 10-team division.

Connor Gillett and Muhammad Saleem both scored centuries for Market Deeping in their crushing 166-run success at Sleaford 2nds in Championship South.

The openers put on 192 runs for the first wicket; Gillett made 105 and Saleem scored 103 as Deeping racked up 341-7 from their 50 overs.
