The ongoing feud between Jaylen Brown and Stephen A. Smith continued on Sunday.
The Boston Celtics star responded to the ESPN personality’s recent comments on First Take during his Twitch stream.
Brown also reacted to being named First Team All-NBA on Sunday and shouted out his teammate, Derrick White, for making All-Defense.
Brown is coming off the best season of his career, in which he averaged 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game, carrying Boston to the No. 2 seed despite Jayson Tatum being out for the majority of the season.
But Brown said his best is yet to come.
“I feel like I’m coming into my prime,” he said on his stream. “I haven’t reached my limit yet.”
Brown added that he hopes to spend the offseason working out with greats like Steve Nash, Kevin Garnett, James Harden and Hakeem Olajuwon.
While the story of the offseason should be the Celtics regrouping to try to make a title run after a first-round playoff exit, it’s largely been consumed so far by the beef between Brown and Smith.
After the Celtics’ season ended, Brown took to Twitch to vocalize some of his frustrations with the officiating in Boston’s first-round series with Philadelphia and called out Sixers’ star Joel Embiid.
Brown was fined for those comments and proceeded to double down on them, which Smith took issue with.
Things escalated last week when Brown said “F–k Stephen A.” and called for the veteran sports analyst to retire. Smith retaliated by telling Brown that he’s capable of taking his reporting to another “level.”
Neither side seems willing to back down, so the back-and-forth could continue throughout the offseason.
