Stephanie Vaquer is finally back in action after being sidelined for several weeks, putting an end to the uncertainty surrounding her WWE status.
The former NXT Women’s Champion made her in-ring return during WWE’s November 5, 2026, house show in Portland, Oregon. Her return comes after she was pulled from a scheduled match against Becky Lynch on Monday Night RAW, which forced WWE to make changes to its plans for the Women’s World Championship picture.
As previously reported, Vaquer was absent from the October 26 episode of RAW and had not been medically cleared to compete. Initial reports indicated that she was dealing with an illness, with Dave Meltzer later explaining on Wrestling Observer Radio that her absence was not part of a storyline. Meltzer also noted at the time that there was no clear timetable for Vaquer’s return, although he had been told her condition wasn’t considered terribly serious.
“She’s ill. You know, it’s not anything. I was told nothing terribly serious or anything, but. But she’s, she’s ill and she’s out.”
However, the latest account of Vaquer’s absence points to an ankle injury that had not fully healed, preventing her from competing against Lynch as originally planned. The scheduled match between Vaquer and Lynch was supposed to determine who would challenge Liv Morgan for the WWE Women’s World Championship. With Vaquer unable to compete, WWE changed course and had Lynch face Morgan for the title instead.
That match ended in a disqualification, allowing Morgan to retain her championship. Meltzer previously explained that WWE went with the finish because the company didn’t want Lynch taking a loss in a match that hadn’t originally been planned.
Now that Vaquer has returned to the ring, the door is open for WWE to revisit its original plans involving Lynch and the Women’s World Championship. However, the company has not confirmed when Vaquer will return to televised competition or whether she will immediately reenter the title picture.
Do you think Stephanie Vaquer should immediately resume her storyline with Becky Lynch and pursue Liv Morgan’s Women’s World Championship, or should WWE take her in a different direction? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
