It’s time for the second ever Blood and Guts match as the women’s division look to tear each other apart on this bloody edition of AEW Dynamite. 12 women will participate in this year’s match, as the tension within the division has been growing in recent weeks.
The match features the Triangle of Madness (Thekla, Julia Hart and Skye Blue), Divine Dominion (Megan Bayne and Lena Kross), and the CMLL World Women’s Champion Persephone vs. AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions The Brawling Birds (Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter), Wrathlander (Kris Statlander and Harley Cameron), Willow Nightingale, and the new TBS Champion Queen Aminata.
Two teams, two rings, and one cage. Teams alternate entries on timed intervals, and once everyone has entered the cage is locked, the match begins. This contest can only be won by submission or surrender, and there are no pinfalls.
Bayne and Statlander start off the match, and Bayne is immediately busted open as her skull crashes into the golden chair.
Persephone arrives to save Bayne, and Statlander is now at a disadvantage. The former TBS Champion grabs some pliers and tries to do some dentistry on Statlander.
The new TBS Champion, Aminata, comes to save the day. Persephone relishes in her old title wrapped in barbed wire and loses focus as Aminata pelts her with the trash can lid. She eats some aluminum chocolate kisses with some help from Statlander.
Blue waves to the ring and hits Statlander with a fluorescent light on the ramp way. Aminata prevents Blue from getting in the ring, but meets a big lariat from Bayne. Statlander gets her revenge as she opens up Blue, but gets her lick back too in the center of the ring.
Nightingale is next to come out with a backpack and trash can lid in hand. She hits Blue with the bag, but unfortunately gets kicked right into the cage. The bag is filled with glass and Legos and Nightingale plants Blue right on them with a spinebuster.
Thekla is here armed with a trash can and takes out the competition. She takes off her belt, but Aminata has the same idea too as they begin lashing each other.
Windsor comes out next and takes out Blue on the ramp with a barbed wired bat. She rakes Blue as it gets stuck on her and gets knocked out with a steel chair. She also spots Thekla, but “The Toxic Spider” fires a net trying to catch her.
Bayne is in dire trouble, but up next is her tag team partner Kross. She saves Bayne by taking out everyone, but is unphased as Aminata tries to hit her with a kendo stick.
Cameron makes her appearance and hits a crossbody right onto the Divine Dominion. She hits a tilt-a-whirl headscissors on Kross and hits a Destroyer on Bayne. Cameron grabs an ukulele from her bag, but Kross stromps right over it. “The Wrath” has backup as she smashes the guitar right over Kross’ head.
Hart is next up and lays everybody out with some brass knuckles. The entire Triangle of Madness is now in the match.
Hayter is the last participant and cracks some beer bottles over their heads. The match now officially begins, and Windsor reunites with her tag team partner.
The Divine Dominion powerbomb Statlander right onto the cage and lands on the apron. And the Triangle of Madness has the advantage over Cameron. Wrathlander is getting choked out on the ropes, but The Brawling Birds save their future challengers.
Persephone climbs up the cage and lands a dive to drive Aminata through the table. The Divine Dominion are driven through the barbed wire tables and Statlander lands a dive on Kross just for good measure. There’s some miscommunication between Hayter and Statlander, but unfortunately take the eyes of the prize.
Cameron avoids the mist from Hart and tries to gain the submission victory with the single-legged Boston Crab. Statlander joins in and tries to choke out Hart directly over her mouth. Hart screams and is forced to tap out before any serious damage is done to her.
Wrathlander takes this win with their team, and will take this momentum heading into Full Gear as they challenge for The Brawling Birds’ tag team titles.
Also tonight, the AEW Women’s World Champion, Mercedes Moné, calls out Marina Shafir. “The CEO” says no one was paying attention to her before she became Jon Moxley’s “little bitch.” Shafir grabs the mic and says that they can fight in the cage if they want to settle it. She respects her history, but not her ego. She also took three slaps to the face just to see if she could do it. But remarks that Moné slaps like a “pussy ass bitch.”
Shafir spits her gum at her, but Moné has had enough and clocks Shafir with the title and into the cage. Big D Moné stands tall as she defends her title against Shafir at Full Gear.
