William Hill make Fleetwood 80/1 to win the Carabao Cup following their victory over Arsenal.
Fleetwood hosted the Premier League champions on Tuesday night, with just a glimmer of hope that they could progress to the next round after Arsenal fielded a much-changed side.
The Lancashire side headed into the game at 200/1 in the outright betting, but then took the lead after 21 minutes and the dream was alive. Hopes were dampened when Arsenal equalised with 40 minutes still to play, but Fleetwood managed to take it all the way to penalties.
Conor Haughey smashed home the winning penalty and sent Fleetwood through to the quarter-finals, seeing their odds slashed from 200/1 to 80/1 to lift the trophy.
- Man City 6/5
- Liverpool 5/2
- Everton 8/1
- Newcastle 9/1
- Bournemouth 10/1
- Sunderland 12/1
- Crystal Palace 14/1
- Fleetwood 80/1
- Bradford 125/1
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Fleetwood Town pulled off one of the great cup football shocks last night, dumping Premier League champions Arsenal out of the Carabao Cup, and the side currently in 18th place in League Two will now be dreaming of a big quarter-final clash.
“On the back of their giant killing, we’ve slashed The Fishermen’s price to go all the way and win the competition to 80/1. They were 200/1 prior to their clash with the Gunners at Highbury Stadium, and as big as 250/1 before a ball was kicked in this year’s competition.
“A handful of punters are living the dream with Fleetwood, as we’ve seen several bets on the Lancashire side to go all the way at 200/1.”
