John Cena is officially heading back to WWE television, with the company announcing his return for next week’s episode of Monday Night RAW in Brooklyn, New York.
The appearance will mark his first return to WWE RAW programming since retiring from in-ring competition. The company has yet to reveal exactly what he will do on the show.
The announcement came shortly before the main event of this week’s RAW, giving fans an early reason to tune in for the November 2 broadcast.
John Cena returns to WWE RAW after retirement
WWE confirmed that John Cena will appear on RAW at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Monday, November 2. The episode will stream live on Netflix. However, the company has not disclosed any specific plans for the Cenation Leader’s return.
One possibility is that the 17-time World Champion will provide further details about the John Cena Classic, an event he previously announced for December 2026. The concept is expected to focus on established talent facing the next generation. WWE fans would vote online to determine the winner on the night.
However, WWE has not confirmed that the tournament will be the focus of Cena’s upcoming appearance. For now, his return is the only officially announced detail, leaving fans waiting to see what he has planned.
Cena retired from in-ring competition on December 13, 2025, after facing Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event. His final match concluded a year-long farewell tour that began after he announced his retirement plans at Money in the Bank in July 2024.
During that farewell run, Cena captured another world championship by defeating Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. That historic victory extended his record to 17 world title reigns. He ultimately stepped away from wrestling because of the physical demands of competing. Moreover, he desired to give younger talent more opportunities.
Although Cena’s days as an active wrestler are over, his upcoming RAW appearance shows that his WWE story isn’t finished. Whether he returns to announce the next chapter of the John Cena Classic or address the WWE Universe for another reason remains to be seen.
