Leading bookmaker William Hill firmly believe Harry Kane will win next week’s Ballon d’Or, with the England forward as short as 1/3 to claim the award.

The Bayern Munich striker is 1/3 to be the first English player to win the award since Michael Owen in 2001 – the lowest odds any player has traded in the market all year.

Lamine Yamal has shared favouritism with Kane throughout 2026 but has drifted to 2/1 since the start of October.

Kylian Mbappe (16/1) completes the top three, but the market suggests a two-horse race with a few days to go before the ceremony.

    Ballon d’Or Winner Odds:

Punters can place a bet on the 2026 Ballon d’Or winner at William Hill and here is the current state of the market:

    • Harry Kane – 1/3
    • Lamine Yamal – 2/1
    • Kylian Mbappe – 16/1
    • Bar – 25/1

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “This year’s Ballon d’Or betting has had plenty of twists and turns but we can now confidently say that we expect Harry Kane to walk away from next week’s ceremony with the Golden Ball in hand.

“We’re now 1/3 for Kane to win this year’s gong, which is lower than any other price we’ve seen in the market since it opened last year.

“Lamine Yamal was likewise odds-on at one stage but has drifted out to 2/1 as we approach Monday’s ceremony.”
